"What's wrong with you today?" Taehyung asked Yeontan. The Pomeranian just barked at his owner, then continued running around in circles.
Taehyung sighed. He took Yeontan to the park because he thought that his dog was getting restless at their dorm, but even in the wide, open park, Yeontan was still doing the same thing.
He sat down on the grass and loosened his grip on Yeontan's leash. It wasn't like the dog was going anywhere. He brought out his phone to take a picture of his strange pet when suddenly, the small dog took off running. Taehyung tried to grab his leash but it slipped through his hands. He grumbled in frustration as he stood up, chasing after the runaway Pomeranian.
Meanwhile, Go Hana was just enjoying her book as she sat under a tree when a little ball of fluff came running at her at full speed. She put her book down and extended her arms just in time for Yeontan to jump into them. The small dog then started attacking her with kisses, licking her all over her face.
"Woah, calm down boy." She chuckled. "It's nice to meet you too..." She reached for the dog's collar and read the name that was written on it. "...Yeontan."
Hana looked around, checking to see where Yeontan's owner could possibly be, but there was no one around so she stood up, carrying the dog in her arms.
"Come on, let's go look for your owner." She told him before kissing his head. She then began walking around the park, looking for someone who looked like their dog just ran away. She was about to give up hope when all of a sudden, Yeontan jumped out of her arms and ran. Hana took off, following the Pomeranian. She didn't want the little pup to get hurt. She wanted to make sure that Yeontan found his owner before she left him.
She saw Yeontan run up to a tall, brown-haired boy, who immediately picked him up and hugged him.
"Yeontan!" The boy exclaimed. Hana noticed how deep his voice was. "Don't run away again, okay? I was so worried."
Hana, happy that the dog was safe, was about to turn and leave, when Yeontan started barking at her, making his owner look in her direction. Embarrassed that she had been caught, Hana waved shyly at him as she walked closer to them.
"You must be Yeontan's owner. Hi, I'm Go Hana." She introduced herself. The boy smiled as he extended his hand out.
"I'm Kim Taehyung." He said. "Thank you so much for finding Yeontan."
Hana shook his hand, flinching slightly when she felt a small shock when their hands touched. Taehyung felt it too, and the two just laughed it off.
"No worries. Actually, he was the one who found me and led me here." Hana explained. Then she patted Yeontan on the head. "You're such a cute boy."
Taehyung blushed at the compliment, scratching the back of his neck as he shyly looked at the ground.
"T-thank you." He smiled. When he looked back up, he was met with Hana's confused gaze. His eyes widened when he realized his mistake.
"Y-you meant the dog. Sorry." He stammered. Hana's eyes turned into half-moons as she gave him a bright smile that made Taehyung's heart skip a beat.
"It's okay." She giggled. "I mean, you're pretty cute too."
Taehyung felt his cheeks get hotter. Not knowing what to do, he just watched as Hana played with the dog in his arms. After a while, the girl talked to him again.
"Well, I guess I'll see you around." She said. "It was nice to meet you."
Taehyung didn't reply, still embarrassed about his mistake. Instead he just waved at Hana as she started to walk away. Yeontan barked softly, getting his owners attention. When Taehyung looked down, he saw his pet looking at him with judgemental eyes, as if saying 'Come on bro, that was some weak game. Is that all you got?'
"You're a dog. Stop judging me." He muttered, but Yeontan just kept staring at him. Realizing that he was having a conversation with his dog who can't speak, and therefore must just be projecting his own thoughts, he called out to Hana.
"W-wait!"
Her long, black hair flipped as she turned around, making Taehyung's heart flutter. There was a curious look in her eyes as she waited for him to talk.
"C-can I buy you coffee?" He asked nervously. "As thanks for taking Yeontan back to me."
"Okay." Hana smiled. Taehyung let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. "I'll just go get my book. I'll be right back."
As he watched Hana walk away, Taehyung put Yeontan back on the ground. Instead of running around in circles, the dog just sat down calmly, crossing his paws as he looked at his owner.
"You planned this, didn't you?" Taehyung accused. Yeontan just panted, sticking his tongue out. Taehyung laughed and patted him on the head. "Good job, boy."
