Heo Yeoreum was so happy that she couldn't sleep. She was getting married to the love of her life, Park Jimin, tomorrow, and she couldn't wait. She knew that she should be getting her beauty rest, but she couldn't stay still for one second, filled with so much excitement for tomorrow's events.

She stood up from her bed and turned on the lights in her bridal suite. She then made her way to her wedding dress, which was on a mannequin in the center of the room.

'I'm going to be wearing this tomorrow. Me.' She thought happily. She put out her hand to touch the dress, but right before she could, there was a knock on her door.

'Who could that be at this hour?'

She walked towards the door and peeked through the peephole, letting out a small chuckle when she saw that it was just her best friend on the other side.

She unlocked her door and opened it, letting Taehyung stumble in. He smelled of alcohol, which she already expected since it was Jimin's bachelor party, and since Taehyung was his best man, of course he would have led the festivities.

Yeoreum helped Taehyung to get to the couch, falling down with him as they reached it which made them both laugh, with Yeoreum doubling over. However, when she straightened herself up, she noticed that Taehyung's laughter had turned into quiet sobs. Not knowing what else to do, she just held her best friend in her arms, gently patting his head as he cried into her shoulder.

After a while, Taehyung had seemed to calm down. Yeoreum stood up to get him a glass of water but then he grabbed her hand, making her look at him.

The expression on Taehyung's face broke her heart. She couldn't stand seeing him sad, and in all the years they had known each other, she had only seen him cry a handful of times.

Whoever was making her best friend cry like that was so going to get it.

Yeoreum sat back next to him, and the next words that came out of his mouth shook her to the core.

"Why-" Taehyung hiccuped. "-why didn't you choose me?"

"Wh-what?" She stuttered, her eyes wide. Taehyung grabbed both of her hands and held it between his own. He looked her straight in the eyes, and even though his tears and his drunken state, she was still the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

"Yeoreum-ah, I have been in love with you ever since we were kids. Why don't you love me back?" He asked quietly.

"You're drunk, Tae." Yeoreum reasoned, trying to laugh it off as one of his drunk ramblings, but Taehyung was completely serious.

"It should have been us." He said. Yeoreum didn't know how to respond. She felt her emotions overwhelm her, and tears started to pour out of her eyes, which Taehyung wiped away with his thumb.

"It's been so hard being around you and Jimin. You two are my best friends, and I want you to be happy, but-" He continued. "It hurts so much, seeing you with him."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Yeoreum asked. Taehyung let go of her hands and clasped his hands together, dropping his gaze to the floor as he laughed wistfully.

"Remember the day you met Jimin? I was supposed to confess to you that day, but then you began telling me about how you had a crush on him, and that you thought he was cute. I figured that I would wait until your crush faded." He told her. "Ironic, right?"

Yeoreum didn't answer. Instead, she asked him another question.

"Why are you telling me this now?"

"Because I'm drunk?" Taehyung chuckled. This time, Yeoreum didn't laugh with him. She was genuinely confused and sad, even guilty. How could she have been so oblivious? How could she have not noticed Taehyung's feelings for her, and how she was hurting him every day by being with Jimin? But what was she even supposed to do? She loved Jimin with all of her heart, and even though she also loved Taehyung, it was a different kind of love.

"Tae..."

"Don't worry, I probably won't even remember this tomorrow." Taehyung laughed. "Tomorrow, I'll be back to normal Taehyung, I promise."

He brought his foot up on the couch, and Yeoreum noticed that he was trying to make himself comfortable so he could fall asleep. Yeoreum got up and went to her bed, grabbing one of the blankets and putting it over him.

Taehyung was already dozing off as Yeoreum tucked him in, but before he was completely unconscious, he smiled sleepily at her.

"I love you, Yeoreum-ah."

Yeoreum kissed his head, closing her eyes as she did so.

"I love you too." She whispered, although she was pretty sure that Taehyung didn't hear her anymore.

She walked back to her bed, turned off the lights, and got under her covers, wishing that she could just forget what had happened.
