Chapter IX

~day 9~

Adam's pov

I decided to call my love since she needs to know what's going on. I opened up a portal to that world and she saw it running over to it. "Adam!" She said happily. "Hey Evelyn. I've missed you so much." I said smiling.

She always makes me feel better. I wish I could have been able to spend eternity with her. "Adam?" She asked. I guess I spaced out. "Huh, oh sorry, I spaced out looking at the most beautiful woman in my life." I said smiling.

If she could blush, I know she would have blushed after I said that line. "Oh stop being a charmer! How's Nasir's trip going?" She asked. "It's going well. I had to take Augustine away from him though because I knew if I didn't, Nasir would be hurt even more." I said sadly to her.

"Why is that?" She asked. "Because the capital of the region they were in hates werewolves. Augustine is a werewolf. And they have dogs there at the border of the capital that sniff out if a person is a werewolf. If Augustine was with them, he would have been killed on sight by a guard as soon as they found out." I said. "I already knew he was a werewolf, but I never knew that about the capital of that region..." She said. "I know you knew he was a werewolf, but what I said about the capital is true." I said.

"I understand, but please keep an eye on all of them." She said. I nodded. "I promised you that I would protect Nasir even if it kills me." I said to her.

"Technically it has already, but you're more alive then I am because you have to tell Nasir the truth." She said. I nodded again. "I love you Evelyn." I said placing my hand against the portal.

She did the same and smiled softly. "I love you too Adam." She said closing her eyes and laying her head against the portal. I laid my own against it and closed my eyes as well. I wish I could have told Nasir what I wanted to tell him before the Saintos attacked us home.
