We lean onto things that make us feel
Something anything
The ocean is so precious to me because
I go there once a year
But I feel it's waves in my veins every day
Somedays there's radio silence
Leaving me to wonder if it's having a bad day
Somedays it's so loud / noise/ so much of it/
And I'm left to think that maybe it's feeling alot today/all of it /at once /
I listen to novo amor's utican when I want to feel the sadness in me / because it's so much better than numbness
I write poetry and my heart hurts with its burden /of words / heavy / sharp steel words /
And my sister asks me /why do poets talk in metaphors / because we don't know how not to/
Because having something to share what you're feeling is always better / a sense of belonging
Because I say /the city reminds me of you/
what I mean is / it's been a long time I have felt something other than chaos.
