Harry's POV
I'll give it to Malfoy he has a lot of things that I don't. He's way better at talking to people and making his way to many hearts. I've seen the way people drool over him.
And so did Y/n.
I saw the way she looked at him. How they throw looks at each other whenever they could. Draco was stupid to lose someone like Y/n, but smart enough to find his way back and smart enough to steal her heart.
I wish to be that for her. I wish to be one that she wants, the one that she loves, but things are too complicated. There was too much going on with the Dursley's, Voldemort, and even Cho.
Cho and I have something going on of course but I'm still confused on what I want. I don't want to pressure her into anything either after Cedric and everything.
"I think that we should figure out what we're doing at Hogsmeade" she said, crossing her arms on the table. I watched as she smiled at me.
"We can walk around, buy some candy from Honeydukes, visit Zonko's" I offered the ideas, watching as her eyes lit up. Since our third year all four of us had loved going into those shops and mess around with each other. Especially in the winter when we would be able to get butterbeer to warm ourselves up.
"That sounds like an awesome idea Harry" she nodded, then turned to look down on her textbook as Umbridge was watching over our table. We sat in silence, acting like we were reading.
For the rest of the afternoon we had planned the meeting and what we'd do afterwards. Once dinner came around the hall filled up quickly. She sat with me throughout dinner, having Ron and Hermione across from us. This seemed like a reality to me. Like this is what it's supposed to be like. My two best friends with each other and Y/n with me.
I watched as she talked to them, how she joked and laughed with all of us. How big her smile would get, a real smile. That's something she can't fake. She was happy at this moment, and that made me happy.
After dinner we all walked back to the common room and changed into regular clothes. We all sat around the couch and fireplace, Y/n and Hermione doing homework as Ron tried copying off of both. I laughed as I watch them, having Y/n look up at me. She smiled before she stood up, sitting next to them empty seat next to me on the couch. She leaned her head against my shoulder as she continued to do her work. I look at her, watching as she yawned.
"We'll always be friends right?" she asks me quietly, looking up into my eyes. I stared back into hers, a loss for words as we were close. I felt her breath gently hit my face as I studied her. I nod, giving a small reassuring smile. "Of course we will be" I reply softly, though a part of me wishes we could be more.
She smiled again, then turning to look at Hermione and Ron who were seated fairly close to each other. They ended up getting distracted by each other, their books and notebooks set aside. They spoke about whatever they could think of. It was a push, for both of them. They were just too hard-headed to realize their feelings for each other. It'll happen eventually though.
Y/n smiled as she watched their progress, and it was progress. They weren't arguing with each other. They laughed together and talked like actual people. She nudged me gently, "they're finally getting somewhere" she whispered into my ear, letting a small giggle out afterwards. Little did she know that made my heart skip a beat.
Saturday Morning
Once we all arrived at Hogsmeade we quickly went to Hog's Head to meet up with everyone.
