CHAPTER IV
It's the next day and I have to get ready to train my ass of, so I jump off my bed and stare up to some kind of holographic time clock and it reads "6:50".
Great! I am 10 minutes early for training so I'm about to head to the bathroom when I turn around to find my roommates/teammates already up and in their uniforms and feasting on the snacks provided for us.
These kids seem to be pretty okay with everything that is going on and not freaked out or sad in anyway
But then again maybe they had all the time to cry and mourn while I was busy having a concussion
"excuse me" I say out loud, but no one responds so I say it again
"excuse me please".
They soon pause and turn around and stop their eating to pay attention to me
"what?!" one of the kids who goes by the name of Bryan (14) says in a very displeasing manner and harsh tone
"I was just wondering what's going on cause I really don't know" I say with my voice as low and light as ever.
The others just stare at me with contempt like I just asked something very stupid.
"what do you know" Bryan asks.
"well other than the fact that my new name is nineteen not much" I say expecting a laugh, but they stare at me with more contempt in their eyes.
"well consider that all you need to know" Bryan says as he and the team wrap up their snack and get ready to leave
"wait so that's all?" I ask and halt their movements
"look other than the fact that the goal is to fight robots follow orders save refuges and get to the circuit to be with your family there's nothing more to know" Bryan says as he and the gang continue to exit the room.
"wait could you guys wait for me?" I ask sounding like a wimp.
Bryan sighs, "fine be quick or we'll be late"
I rush with speed towards our bathroom and out with me on my uniform.
"I'm ready" I say with so much excitement in my bones.
Me and the guys walk out and go to the training room together and we see other teams getting out of their rooms and headed to the training room
When we get there, we find all sorts of training equipment's lined up and find other groups already there waiting.
"welcome kids for today is not only training day but no resting day" Mr. Watson says putting chills in a lot of kids.
I look around and no girls are present just guys.
After a few pep talks training begins
Our first training was to run on a tread mill while the instructor kept increasing the speed
Most people flew off and got some hard hits I was literally the first one to fly off
"more ferocious!" Mr. Watson screams at me.
"I'm trying" I say almost dropping a tear.
The rest of my team seem to be doing better work than I am
Bryan advances from the tread mill exercise first followed by a few others and within a few moments everyone is left except me.
I try my best to push my limits as much as I can, and I finally pull through and join the others.
"next up reflexes" Mr. Watson screams
The next thing we know some sort of machine gun ascends from below and points at us.
Everyone is almost scared that the guns will start shooting at us.
And they did.
The next thing everyone new rubber bullets started shooting out of those machine guns at us.
The bullets move less fast than the speed of an actual rubber bullet but still hurts like hell.
Kids start trying to dodge the rubber bullets and fail woefully some take the bullets to their nose their eyes and their guts, but Mr. Watson pays no attention to that and keeps yelling at us
"dodge them!!"
We all try our bests to dodge those bullets but then again, we are just kids.
Our training is sooner or later halted when one kid takes a rubber bullet to the nuts and paralyses him rapidly.
The kid screams at the top of his voice almost like he wanted to stop living cause the pain was too unbearable for him.
"ughh, take him away" Mr. Watson says with no single speck of empathy in his voice.
The rest of us are seen sweating tremendously from the little time we were with our task.
"get them out of my sight" he says to a lad and lowers his voice to avoid us acting up but again for the hundredth time we are just kids.
I look to my teammates waiting for them to make a move as everyone else is seen exiting the room some trembling from pain and even crying from it while others try to comfort.
My teammates don't even pay attention to me as they walk out the room with a frown of frustration and pain on their faces as I follow them.
We then land in our chambers and no one says anything to anyone.
"hey, I'm max" max says as he breaks the silence.
"hey, I'm nineteen I guess" I reply trying to be friendly
Then it's back to the awkward silence.
"this was some fucked up training" Milton says
"no shit" everyone except me choruses.
