The next morning, jughead woke up in his childhood bedroom, and Betty wasn't next to him. As he sat up to go and look for her, she walked back into the bedroom, wiping her mouth and jughead instantly knew his wife had been sick. "Morning sickness?" He asked sympathetically, as she climbed back on the bed and cuddled into his side. "Yeah" she sighed, closing her eyes as jug kissed her head. "I'm sorry baby, is there anything I can do?" He asked but Betty shook his head. "I'll be okay, we should probably get dressed, I think Jellybean wants to go out for breakfast" she told him. "Betts, if you don't feel great we don't have to go, they'll understand" he said, stroking the hair from her face. "I know, but honestly I'm okay" she assured him, standing up and pulling out some clothes. "Even if I can't eat much I can have tea and toast" she added and jug nodded, agreeing and getting up to get ready himself.
An hour and a half later, Betty and jughead were sat in a booth with FP and Jellybean in a diner having breakfast. As said, Betty was having tea and toast and jug watched cautiously as she seemed to be okay and didn't seem to be feeling sick, so he relaxed and tucked into the pancakes in front of him. "So what shall we do today?" FP asked. "We could go shopping!" Jellybean squealed. "We went shopping last time we were here jelly" jug groaned. "How about we head to the lakes?" FP suggested. "The lakes?" Betty asked. "There's some lakes about half an hour away, the scenery is beautiful and there's some trails and a café" jug told her. "That sounds nice" betty smiled. "Will you be up for it?" Jug whispered to her and she nodded, kissing his cheek. "That's settled then, we'll head there" FP grinned. After breakfast, jughead and Betty stopped by a store to grab some walking boots and then the four of them got in jugheads jeep and drove to the lakes. "We haven't been to the lakes in ages!" Jellybean said in the back. "Did you used to go a lot?" Betty asked. "When we were kids" jug nodded. "That's where jug started to get into photography" FP explained. "He used by old camera and wanted to take photos at the lake" he added and Betty smiled, imagining a younger jughead. "Did you have anywhere you used to go when you were younger Betty?' Jellybean asked. "Not really, my grandparents used to have a farm we'd visit every summer" she told them. "Did you like it?" Jug asked and Betty shrugged. "Cooper family vacations weren't very relaxing but I used to love spending time outside so it was okay" she smiled. Jug gave her a small smile and placed his hand over her thigh as he drove.
When they got there, jughead helped Betty out the car and helped her into a coat. "Thanks juggie" she smiled and pecked his lips. "Ready to go?" He asked as she nodded; they linked hands and walked ahead to join FP and Jellybean on the trail. Jughead was snapping photos all along the trail, while Betty was chatting with FP and Jellybean about everything that's happened since they last saw eachother, and about bettys pregnancy so far. After a while, Betty dropped back and watched jughead take photos and FP and Jellybean carried on walking, giving the couple some space. "Hey you" jug grinned as he spotted her waiting for him. "Hi" she smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him, his arms on her waist. "I love you" she whispered. "I love you too baby" he smiled. "I like it here" she said as the started walking again. "Yeah?" Jug said, wrapping an arm around her waist as the walked. "Yeah, i like the fresh air" she said, taking a deep breath. "Yeah I suppose it is fresh Compared to New York air" jug laughed. They walked in silence for a few moments until jug asked "how are you feeling?. His hand subtly moving to her stomach. "I'm okay, a little tired but I'm good" she smiled up at him and jug captured her lips with his own. "That's good" he said. "Now, shall we go and get something to eat" he asked, spotting the café. "You are eating for two after all".
