Jamie arrived home not long after everyone in Matt's car. He walked in seeing Matt on the settee just watching TV and Alex locking Nick's basement door. He sighed and sat next to Matt.
"I think that Nick's too cool for the basement," he said to him, looking up at the TV to see what Matt was watching, it being Riverdale... seriously?
"What are you getting at Jamie?" Matt asked, still being annoyed, well Matt was always annoyed in this story for some reason.
"I just think he's too cool for the basement, can you get Alex to let him out?" he asked Matt, raising an eyebrow as Cheryl said 'shut up tony' god this show was terrible, did Matt actually like this?
"Look Jamie, I'm trying to watch this underrated show, why can't you tell Alex? I don't exactly want to talk to him right now." Matt replied, really enjoying Riverdale's take on Heathers.
"Because I'm too cool to talk to Alex," Jamie responded, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Matt just sighed, this 'too cool' thing of Jamie's was really starting to grind his gears.
"Well you know what Jamie? I'm too cool to talk to you or Alex right now. So let me just watch my new favourite show in peace!" Matt snapped, leaning back and picking up the remote, turning the TV volume up so that he could drown out the sound of Jamie's voice.
Jamie just groaned and got up, not even going to Alex because he was an annoying ass rat and Jamie tried to avoid him as much as possible. Nick was the only normal, fun person and it sucked that Alex was keeping him hostage, it sucked that he kept him locked in the basement all day, the poor guy didn't deserve any of it. It should honestly be Alex that was locked in the basement since he was a crusty old sock, but no he was the front man and all the fangirls were crazy for him.
Alex was in the kitchen making tea and crumpets (ahahahahaha so funny I'm definitely not from England) since he was hungry, it sucks that Matt didn't let him have a McDonalds and he was still pretty salty over that. Jamie snuck past him and made his way to the staircase that led to the basement, he luckily reached it without Alex noticing him.
He reached the door but realised he didn't have the key to set it open, he groaned and looked at the floor, his eyes picking up on something shiny, and as if it was on cue there was a paperclip right there, now Jamie could pick the lock open.
He did just that, attempting to unlock the door, the only problem was that Jamie had no clue how to pick a lock, so he just awkwardly moved the paper clip inside the keyhole until he heard a click, a smile formed on his face, excited that he had managed to pick the lock, he pulled the paperclip out and his face dropped once he saw that it broke, so that's what the click was. He pouted and tried the door anyway and to his surprised it opened.
He entered the basement, to see Nick reading, he seemed at peace, he walked over to him.
"Heya Nick!" Jamie grinned. Nick looked at him, a little shocked to see him but not at all sad.
"Hi." was all that Nick replied, going back to his book. Jamie pouted, he did't want Nick to be boring.
"A little more enthusiasm at least?" he asked, moving next to him and looking at his book. "What ya reading?" he asked.
"Gabbie Hannah's book, she's my favourite author" he told him, smiling softly. Jamie grabbed the book off him, wanting to see what this Gabbie Hannah person wrote. He began to read aloud.
"IRON
when i was young
my mom use to check if the iron was hot
by touching it,
and, i don't know
i just feel like there's
a metaphor in there somewhere." he read.Jamie looked back at Nick, a smile forming on his face, "Dude this is the best thing I've ever read!" he happily exclaimed, making Nick smile too.
"I know right! She's my favourite author, her stuff is so deep! I love her so much!" Nick beamed.
So now Jamie and Nick read through Gabbie Hannah's book together, being all happy and enjoying her amazing work.
Sadly, evil rat man Alex heard the noise they were making and went to the basement to see all the commotion. He entered to see Jamie and Nick all happy.
"Jamie you shouldn't be in here with Nick! How dare you!" He hollored, (That word is sending me gfdfsghfd) going to lock Jamie in with Nick since he was now a villan in my story.
But now Jamie and Nick had been fuelled by the power of Gabbie's deep <\3 words and they were now really strong, so instead the managed to lock Alex in the basement, and they went upstairs to tell Matt the news.
"We locked Alex in the basement because he's an evil rat man," Jamie told him, Matt smiled and they all cheered.
The 3 of them then went to McDonalds to celebrate.
Without Alex.
