Michael's POV

I was walking down the hallway, on my phone when I crashed into someone and my poor device fell out of my hand.

"Sorry." the other person-a girl- says, picking my phone up for me. She was wearing dark blue jeans and a yellow sweatshirt.

"Its ok. I wasn't watching where I was going." I say.

"Neither was I." she says. I chuckle and she gives me my phone back.

"Are you new?" she asks me. "I've never seen you around before."

I  nod. "Yea. Today's my first day."

"Oh, that's nice. I've lived in here all my life." She informs me.

Well, lucky you. I move practically every few months. Actually, we already have a plan of moving to a town called Redwood in South Carolina next year.

Instead, I say, "Wow. I like the town. It's nice and calm, but I'm always moving."

"Yea, but trust me, there is a LOT of drama happening within these walls." She replies, pointing out a girl and a guy fighting in the middle of the hall.

"Michael." I introduce myself, putting my hand out.

"November." She shakes my hand.

"Nice. Lemme guess, born in November?" I guess.

"Ha! How did you guess?"

I just chuckle and she asks,  "Which way's your locker?"

After glancing at my phone, I reply with "229."

"Oh, right next to mine! Come on, I'll show you the way."

She leads us to our lockers.

I pick up conversation again with a usual question while we walk. "Do you play a sport?"

"Yea. You?" she asks.

"Same. What do you play?"

"Soccer outside, Volleyball in school."

"That's nice! I love volleyball."

"What do you play?" she asks me.

"Obvi volleyball and basketball."

"Nice."

"Yea."

She stops in front of two lockers, and points mine out to me. Opening my locker with the combo that the main office had given me this morning, I shove my back and the things I don't need into the metal box. Grabbing my binder only, I slip my phone into my back pocket.

After we both finish, we find out that we are in the same homeroom.

For some random reason, I ask her, "So, who are the popular kids?"

Her face falls a bit before the pretty smile returns. "Well, you have Satiana AKA Satin. Then my ex-best friend, Riley. And my ex-boyfriend, Jake. Satin and Riley have minions."

"Woah. ex-best friend and ex-boyfriend!" I exclaim. I didn't mean to sound rude or anything, but the same thing practically happened to me too.

"Yea. I saw them uh, um ya know. making out in the library after school one day." She looks down.

"Hey, hey." I say. "Don't think about it. I say my ex cheating on me with my best friend and my worst enemy."

"Wow, two people?!"

"Yea. Its crazy. I loved her. A lot. But guess it wasn't meant to be." I reply, remembering how it felt that day. I had walked in on her making out with my enemy, and then the next day with my best friend.

"I thought I lov-" she stops when someone calls out .

"Nove!" A girl comes running to November.

"Hey Oct." November says to her.

Realizing that they both looked exactly alike, I exclaim, "Woah. You two are twins!" November looks at me and chuckles.

"Yup." they both say at the same time, popping the 'p' in the process.

The other girl introduces herself as October. She is cute. I mean, I get this feeling when I look into her pretty, mesmerizing green eyes.

After a few minutes, October starts running, saying that her teacher was mean or something.

November and I take our time up the stairs, talking.

Walking into the room, she goes to her seat and I go to talk to the teacher.

"Hi. Michael?" the teacher asks me.

I nod. "I'm Ms. Randall." she says. "Here is your schedule young man." she hands me my schedule. Thanking her, I walk to where November is. Sliding into an empty seat next to her, I look at my schedule.

"Who do you have?" November asks.

"Huh?"

"Teachers.

"Oh." I hand her my schedule.

"Dude! You and I have all the same classes." she exclaims.

I chuckle. "What a coincidence. Now you can be my guide November." I joke.

She just laughs. "Yea. I guess. Also, call me Nova."

"Aright." I reply, just as the bell rings.

**Lunch Time**

Nova leads me to the cafeteria. The school isn't that bad. I mean, its only been half the day though.

"You can sit with us." she says. I nod and she walks over to a table with October and two other guys.

"Hey guys. This is Mike. Michael." she introduces me.

"Hey man! New?" One of the guys asks me. He has red-rimmed glasses and is wearing a gray polo shirt with light blue jeans.

"Yea." I say, nodding.

"I'm Matt." the same guy introduces himself.

"Michael. Call me Mike though." I reply politely. For some reason, this guy is giving off some bad vibes.

"I know. I have two classes with you and Nova just introduced you." he replies. Again, bad vibes.

"I'm John." The other guy says.

"Hey." I just say.

"Babe, are you free today?" Matt asks October.

Wow, October is dating him! Yikes.

**After school**

I walk home like I always did at every other place I've ever lived in. Opening the door to the house, I walk in and close the door after me.

"Hi Michael." Sofia says.

Ignoring her as usual, I walk up the stairs and into my current room. Slamming the door, I toss my bag onto my bed and fall back onto it.

Without knowing it, I fall asleep, thinking about my life.
