Nova's POV
I sit next to Oct, but we don't say a word to each other. At least for the first half of the bus ride. Jake gets onto the bus, and looks at me. I make brief eye contact, but quickly turn my head the other way, looking out the window.
"Are you gonna go?" Oct suddenly says.
I look at her, confused.
"Huh?"
"Don't act so smart. Are you going to his house today?" she asks again.
My eyes widen on their own. "How-" I start.
"Your phone was going off when I was in your room for my headphones that I had left there last week." she inturrupts.
I look down.
"So?" she asks again.
"Why do you care?" I ask.
"Nova please." she pleads me.
"I can decide if I want to or not."
"Please don't. I don't trust him Nova."
"I never asked for your opinion." I snap. I stand and get off the bus, which had stopped in front of the school.
I feel bad for snapping at her, but she has to mind her own business.
Oct's POV
She leaves. Just stands and walks off the bus. I follow after her, keeping a distance though. She isn't in her right mind. I know how she feels. I understand her pain, but what she's doing is wrong. She can't go back to him.
She won't. She will realize that she can't go back to him. She won't go back. I try to convince myself.
Nova's POV
I decide to skip lunch today. I don't want to face October. Or anyone else for that matter.
I'm still deciding on what to do. Still weighing the pros and cons of going and not going. An inner battle is raging within me.
I should go. For Gina.
Maybe I shouldn't. He knows I have a soft spot for Gina.
What is she really misses me?
But what if its a trap?
He won't lie about his sister.
Maybe not, but he might try to hurt you.
Not when Gina's around.
How are you so sure she will be around Nova?
He said she will.
No, he said she wanted to see you.
He called me over so she could see me.
or so he says.
"AHHH!" I shout into the empty hallway.
****
After school, I go to Cara's for a while. I don't order anything. I just sit there, thinking.
After about a half-an-hour of sitting there quietly, I grab my bag and walk out. I walk to James' house and stand at the door, nervous to ring the bell.
I probably stood there for 5 minutes when I finally managed to ring the bell.
A few moments later, the door opens...
