Heartbroken

Chapter 18

October's POV

Ughh. I have a splitting headache.

I get off the bus alone, and walk home. Even before I open the door, I can hear Dash barking like crazy from inside. I quickly open the door and walk into the house.

"Dash, stop it!" I yell, hoping he would stop. But, he doesn't listen to me.

Afraid that something I kick my shoes off, and run upstairs, flinging my backpack onto the sofa in the process.

I see Nova's door open, and Dash is at the bathroom door, barking like mad.

"Dash! Stop!" I yell again.

Looking around the room, I find Nova's bag flung on her bed. Looking at the bathroom door, I see a thin line of light from under the door.

"Nova!" I yell, banging on the door.

I don't hear anything. I keep banging on the door.

"Nova! Open the door!" I yell.

I hear small sniffling and whimpering noises from inside.

Shit! James did something to her! I think.

After banging on the door for some time, I rush downstairs and find my phone. I call mom, but she doesn't lift the call. I keep trying her phone, but after some time, the automatic voice says that the phone has been switched off.

"Shit!" I curse.

I quickly dial Mike, who, luckily for me, picks up on the first ring.

"Hey Oct, how's it going?" he asks.

"Mike, I need you to come over." I say hurriedly.

"Why? What happened?" he asks.

"Its Nova. She locked herself in the bathroom, and isn't opening the door." I try to yell over Dash's barking.

"DASH SHUT UP!" I yell at Dash.

"Ok, I'm coming over. Be there in ten." he says quickly.

"Ok. See you." I say.

Slipping my phone into my back pocket, I rush to Harry's room. Looking through his drawers, I luckily find his Credit Card. I rush to Nova's bathroom, and try opening the door. Slipping the card through the crevice, I slide it up and down for ten minutes, trying the door knob every few seconds, but to no avail.

After some time, I hear the front door slam shut, and the sound of boots running up the stairs. A few moments later, Michael's face pops into the room. He sees me at the door, and rushes over. Pulling out a few weird looking key-like things, he puts them 

"Shit!" he curses after trying the last one.

"Stand back." he warns.

I move back, along with Dash. He rams into the door with his shoulder, and a loud thump echoes around the room.

After running into the door, it finally gives in and opens.

We run into the bathroom, and see Nova...
