Chapter 15

Oct's POV

Its been close to two months since I 'exposed' Matt to the entire grade. Including a few freshman, juniors, and seniors. Hehehe!

I walk out of my class right before lunch, which is math. I got a 100% on my last pop test, which I thought I had failed. I see Nova's locker. She is talking to a guy. I just can't tell who it was. I run up to her none-the-less. The guy was leaving, and I see his face.

Jake?!?!

I look at her, but decide not to say anything about it.

"Hey. lets go to Cara's today after school?" I ask.

"Huh?" Nova says.

"Cara's." I say again, referring to the ice cream parlor.

"Uh yea. Sure. " she replies.

"Hey." Michael says as he walks up to his locker which is right next to Nova's.

"Hey. Wanna join Nova and me at Cara's after school?" I ask him.

"Yea sure. Why not." He shrugs.

"K. Thanks! See you two later." I say.

I rush to my locker and shove my books into it. I grab my lunch, which is just a sandwich, and sprint to the library. I'm in the library counsel, and we meet every other day during lunch. Today is one of those days I have library counsel.

"Hi October." Mrs. Green says to me.

"Hi Mrs. Green." I greet her back. I walk over to one of the tables. The first 15 minutes, we get time to eat, and 'work' for the last 20 minutes.

Nova's POV

I pick at my chocolate and vanilla swirl sundae as Oct talks a mile a minute. Michael is right next to me, listening to Oct as she talks. I think Mike like October.

"Nova? Nova!" Oct's voice shakes me from my thoughts.

"Uh. Yea." I say.

"You ok?"

"Mhm." I put a spoonful of icecream into my mouth.

"Guys, I gotta go." Mike says next to us as he slips his phone into his pocket. He stands and grabs his bag.

"K. Bye." Oct says.

"Bye Oct. Bye Nova." he says.

I nod my head and smile halfheartedly. After he leaves, Oct looks at me.

"What did Jake have to say?" she asks me suddenly.

"Huh? Uh...um. I-uh nothing." I stutter.

Oct raises her eyebrow. "Yea. I wasn't born yesterday. I saw you two."

"Its nothing. Don't worry." I reply nonchalantly, picking at my icecream..

"Nova..." she says in a warning tone.

"What!" I snap. "Yes. I talked to him. He wanted me to take him back. He said he actually loved me." I look down at the table.

October stares at me in shock. "Please tell me you are not considering him again..."

I look up at her. "Its none of your business." I say. I stand up, grab my bag, and walk out of the icecream parlor.
