Heartbroken

Chapter 16

Nova's POV

I walk out into the street, and decide to walk home instead of call mom. I don't feel like facing October or mom to be honest. They both pry way too much into my personal life.

As I begin the 20 minute walk home, I think about what happened this afternoon before lunch.

Flashback:

I walk out of Spanish quickly, trying not to say another word to Jake. Unfortunately, Senora Lopez made us work in partners for the project. And guess what? My life LOVES me so much that Jake and I are working together on this project...that will be worked on for the next two months, basically till the end of this school year. Don't even ask why. Senora Lopez is hella scary to even look at, none-the-less question.

"Nova." I hear my name being called by the voice that I now hate. I ignore him and continue walking to my locker.

"Nova wait." he calls again. I don't stop, pretending I don't hear him. He still follows me. All the way to my locker.

When I reach my locker, I work on opening the lock as quickly as I could. Unfortunately, I didn't open the lock fast enough, because Jake reached me just as the lock popps open.

"Nova listen to me." he says. I don't. Instead, I move to open my locker, which Jake slams shut with the palm of his hand.

"Move." I say, not looking at him.

"No. Listen to what I have to say."

"I said move."

"Listen to me."

"Fine, just fucking move out of my way." I yell quietly.

Satisfied, he takes his hand off my locker door, but grabs my lock off my locker hook.

"Give it back." I warn.

"Listen to what I've gotta say and then you can have your lock back."

"Fine." I cram my binder and books into my locker and cross my hands across my chest, getting ready to listen to the stupid-ass voice.

"Look. Nova I'm sorry. I love you. I really do. Please take me back Nova. I beg you." He pleads.

"Is that all? Now you can leave." I say, still not making eye contact. If I look at him, I'm sure I would've said yes.

"Nova please." he begs me.

I look over his shoulder and see October looking at us.

"Jake please leave." I say.

"No. I want to date you." he says.

"Jake we can talk about this shit later. Oct's coming and I don't have the energy to answer he questions." I say.

"Fine." He puts the lock back onto the locker hook and leaves, just as Octobers walks up to me.

**End of Flashback**

"Oct, Nova. Dinner's ready." Mom yells.

"Coming mom. Two seconds!" I yell. I can already hear Oct running down the stairs.

I charge my phone, and run down the stairs as well.

****

Dinner was quiet. Oct nor I talked at all. Mom talked about random stuff, but mostly about her soon-to-be husband.

I fall onto my bed and grab my phone off the nightstand. The second the screen lights up, I see 12 messages from Jake. I read them.

Jake:

Hi

please take me back

i beg you

please baby

i love you

nova please

take me back

i promise it was not intentional

nova please

reply

say something

come to my house tmrw after school. please.

__

I read the last message, and decide to reply.

Me:

leave me alone

Jake:

please. Gina misses you so much. she wants to meet you. come for her. please.

__

I leave him on read and put my phone back on the night stand.

Should I go...or not?

Hey guys. So I hope you like this chapter. What do you think Nova will do? What do you think she should do? Hope you will comment and let me know. Also, this book is almost over. I was thinking maybe another 2-3 chapters. I want to make this into a vry short trilogy bcs y the hell not? I also changed the title to Heartbroken.
