arabella turned in shock to see the last person she's expect to see.

"joshua?", she asked in complete shock.

joshua bassett stood awkwardly with his hands in his pocket, his curly hair appearing lighter under the lights. he wore a black turtle neck with black jeans. arabella was shocked, completely confused as to why he was here.

"hey," he grinned, walking nearer to her.

"oh my god, what are you doing here?", arabella asked in shock as her and joshua went in for a hug. "oh my god, i can't believe i'm talking to you right now!"

joshua laughed slightly, smiling down at the small girl.

"well i came with sofia, olivia and matt is around here somewhere," he laughed.

"oh my god, they're here?", arabella gushed, looking around frantically.

"you seemed upset and you were standing by yourself so i wanted to come check up on you. what's wrong?", joshua asked, his brows furrowed in concern.

arabella sighed, letting out a sad laugh.

"i'm waiting for someone, they promised me they'd be back in time. but i guess they've let me down," she explained, letting out a weak laugh.

joshua frowned.

"well anyone would be absolutely stupid to let you down arabella. they're an idiot and don't deserve you," joshua insulted, feeling slightly frustrated to see the girl upset.

"thank you, but maybe he has a reason," she sighed, leaning against the balcony.

joshua shrugged.

"why were you waiting for him anyways?", joshua asked, leaning next to her.

"not to sound pathetic but he was going to be my new years kiss," she laughed.

around them people began to shout and freak out, one minute.

"it's not pathetic arabella, and it's okay," joshua smiled.
