arabella sat at the kitchen table with kio, her eating her coco-pops whilst scrolling through tiktok. she came across a tiktok talking about toxic friends and it reminded her of what she needed to tell kio. she quickly switched her phone of, placing it down and putting the spoon back in the bowl.
"kio, you'd never guess who i saw at the theatre the other day!", arabella spoke up.
kio looked up from his phone with his brows furrowed.
"who?", he asked, putting his phone on the table.
"mia," arabella said, slight venom in her voice at the mere thought of the girl.
kio's eyes widened.
"what the fuck. did she say anything? who was she with?", he asked frantically.
"she tried to talk to me but i just walked away from her. and i didn't really see, she walked past me and noah but i didn't look at her and kinda rushed off and went back into the auditorium," arabella shrugged.
"what the fuck. what is she even doing in la? she moved away straight after we graduated," kio exclaimed, still in shock about arabella's encounter with mia.
"i don't even know," arabella huffed, running her shaky hand through her hair.
"do you think...", kio started, but cut himself off.
"what?", arabella asked wearily.
"do you think aiden is here too?", kio questioned cautiously.
arabella gulped, feeling her breath caught in her throat at the mention of him.
"please don't say his name kio, and i don't really want to think about him. or mia. they're toxic. i don't want to relive everything that they put me through," arabella quickly replied. "but to answer your question, i don't know. i hope he isn't because that means i'm just going to spend the next few weeks constantly looking over my shoulder."
