Chapter 2: Chip

After exploring around the islands of Apotos, Sonic and the little chihuahua did some more exploring around the village. Sonic was confused when he saw the faint chaos emeralds...

"What do you figure that was all about? The hair? And those arms? And look at the chaos emeralds!" Sonic said while juggling them around with his gloves.

"So, is this what you normally look like?" The chihuahua asked.

"Yeah! This is the real me! Pretty cool huh?"

Before the little chihuahua could answer, he saw the sight of this delicious treat from one of the vendors in the village.

"Huh? Where'd you go?" Sonic said.

Sonic soon realized where the chihuahua had went and it was the sight of the delicious chocolate chip sundae that lured him.

"That's right! This chocolate chip sundae supreme is the pride of the city! The whole world can come tumbling down but they still come for a taste!" The ice cream vendor said.

"Chocolate chip sundae supreme!" The chihuahua gushed

"That's right kiddo, if you don't love it, you get your money back guaranteed!"

"HEY! WHAT ABOUT YOUR MEMORIES?!" Sonic shouted from the other side of the village.

"Oh! I LOVE IT!" The chihuahua exclaimed!

The little chihuahua bought one for himself and the hedgehog and together they walk in the village of Apotos.

"This chocolate chip whatever stuff is yummy!" The chihuahua exclaimed.

"If you say so." "How about you give me a hand and help me look for somebody who knows you Chip?"

"Chip?" The chihuahua asked with a confused face.

"Gotta call you something, don't I? Whaddya think?"

"Chip, Chip! I love it! Yum!"

"Now what do you say we start asking around to see if anybody here knows you?"

"Okay!" Chip exclaimed in excitement.

The two then go off and search the village for any citizens who may know Chip.

"There's someone!" "Maybe he knows who you are!" "Let's go talk to him!"

"Okay!"

Sonic and Chip walk up to a a priest named Gregorios. They then proceeded to ask him some questions.

"Good afternoon sir! Would you happen to know who my friend is? He just lost his memory."

"I can't say I have seen him around here before?" You know our village has been extremely worked up lately about an earthquake!"

"Hmm, you felt it too?" Sonic asked.

"Yes, we in Apotos don't get too many of those if ever!" "Our visitor rates have been dropping and because of that we are losing money!" "You two are the first ones we've seen in awhile since that earthquake!"

"Well we're glad to be here! Your chocolate sundae supreme stuff is really good!" Chip said.

"Why of course! We in Apotos are famous for our ice cream! Although, I can't help you with your memory, I'm sure some other villagers can, just go past this gate and some of the other villagers can help you!"

"Oh thank you so much for your help! C'mon Sonic! Let's go!"

"Roger that buddy!" Sonic laughs. "Thank you again! It was nice chatting with you!"

"You are so welcome! I wish you both luck on your quest!" "Have a nice rest of your day!"

"You as well! Gotta go!" Sonic ran off along with Chip.

Sonic and Chip headed to the gate and found more people to talk to about Chip's memories

"Sorry kid!" "Can't say that I have seen you around here before!" The husband of an elderly couple said to Sonic and Chip.

"I can't say I've seen you around here either!" The wife of the elderly man said. "There may be some others downtown who may know who you are.

"Thank you for your help." Sonic said with a smile.

Chip and Sonic walked in the village some more to look for someone who may know Chip. They ran into this little boy.

"Ah! Who are you!" "Stranger danger!" The boy said.

Sonic and Chip shrugged and kept walking. Sonic looked over at the sun. It was starting to set. They go back to the main part of the village where the ice cream vendor is.

"Ah." Chip sighed. "Still no luck finding anyone who knows me!"

"Don't worry about it!" Sonic assured Chip. "Maybe your memory will come back on its own! Remember anything yet?"

"Hmm." "Nope."

Sonic sighs and looks up at the moon, "Oh well."

The sun finally set and Sonic felt that strange feeling again of dark energy inside of him. He crouched down with the purple energy inside of him. The purple orb transformed him into the hideous beast once again.

"Sonic!" Chip yelled.
