Chapter 3: Saving a familiar friend

"Sonic!" Chip yelled as Sonic transformed back into the Werehog.

"I'm okay!" Sonic said halfheartedly. "So when the sun goes down, I turn into this?" Sonic asked as he looked at himself

"Sonic are you okay?" Chip asked.

"I'm fine. I just need to be careful who sees me like this!"

"Oh it's hopeless!" The ice cream vendor says in the distance. "The whole planet is split apart! We're doomed!"

"Mister, hey Mister! Don't cry! Ice cream, how about some more of this super tasty stuff?"

Chip attempted to hand the ice cream man the ice cream but he accidentally dropped it. At the sight of this, Sonic quickly stretched his arm to grab the tasty treat.

"Sonic, your arm!" Chip said.

"Weird. But it could be useful." He was pleased with himself.

Sonic gave the man back his ice cream but still was crying. Sonic shrugged.

"C'mon Sonic! Let's talk to some more people around town!"

"Okay bud!" Sonic replied.

The two head into town to talk to some more of the villagers. They stumbled across the elderly couple again.

"Isn't it a little late to be roaming around town at this time of night?" The elderly man said.

"My what big arms you have?" The elderly woman said.

"No it's not too late." Sonic replied to the elderly couple. "And besides I have a job to do."

"We're sorry sir." The man replied. "Go on then."

Sonic and Chip eventually ran to the same little boy from earlier.

"Whoah!" "You look mighty cool!" "I bet you can beat anybody up if you wanted to!" the boy said to the werehog.

"Well, he's no help." Sonic said to Chip. "Let's keep looking!"

Sonic and Chip then ran into Gregorios.

"Hey Gregorios!" "Nice to see you again!" "Do you remember us?" "I'm Sonic and this is my friend Chip."

"Ah, Sonic!" Gregorios replied. "You look much different than before!" "Glad to see you both again!" "Any luck finding your friend's memory?"

"Still no luck!" Chip replied. "But I still have hope!"

"That's good!" "Our citizens have been acting really strange tonight." "In fact, I saw some monsters lurking around the gate earlier." "We need to be cautious of them!" Gregorios explained.

"I'll go and investigate." Sonic said. "It was nice seeing you again!" "Goodbye, Gregorios!" Sonic ran off along with Chip.

"Hang on, monsters? "NO! I DON'T WANT TO GO!" Chip protested.

"C'mon Chip!" Stop being a crybaby and come with me!" Sonic said annoyed.

"Fine." Chip murmured.

Sonic and Chip then explored the corridors of Apotos where several swarms of enemies would suddenly appear. Sonic would use his new Werehog abilities to his advantange where he would claw his way through enemies. He then fought every enemy in the village except for one. He was this big, mighty titan, with a hammer bigger than a certain pink hedgehog's Piko Piko hammer. Sonic went to investigate when he saw a familiar friend hiding behind a wall.

"That's Tails!" "He's in trouble!" Sonic said.

"Who's Tails?" Chip asked.

"My best friend." "No time to explain. We gotta save him!" Sonic brought Chip with him and approached the mighty Titan.

"Hey hold on!" Chip said. "I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS!!" Chip screamed as Sonic brought him along.

"Hey Titan!" Sonic yelled. "Come and get me!" "I don't leave my friends in the lurch!"

The titan boasted out a loud roar and began to lunge at Sonic. Sonic dodged and threw a couple punches.

"C'mon!" "Is that all you got!" Sonic snarked!"

The titan was getting angry now and became even stronger. Sonic took notice of this and began to transform into his unleashed mode. This was his mode where he was unstoppable and invincible. He made quick work of the titan and his henchmen and then soon he was defeated.

"Not so mighty now are you?" Sonic snarked.

"Sonic?" Tails came out of his hiding spot.

"Hey Tails! What are you doing out here all alone?"

"Um, that's a look!" Tails said confused at what his friend was.

"You know me. Never a dull moment!" Sonic replied, shaking off his comment.

"Hey there! Want some chocolate!" Chip asked Tails.

"Um, thanks." "To answer your question, I came here to look for a Professor named Professor Pickle. He's located in Spagonia University. He says he may know what's going on with the planet!"

"Spagonia? That's a continent over!"

"How will we get there?" Chip asked.

"Don't worry!" "My Tornado 1 will get us there in a flash!" Tails beamed.

"Leave it to you Tails!" "It's good to have you back bud!" Sonic said.

"You too Sonic!" "Now let's head over to Spagonia!"

The three nodded in excitement and hopped on Tails' plane to go to Spagonia to see the Professor.
