Chapter 5: Complaining about a sandwich

Sonic, Tails, and Chip finally arrived in Mazuri after a long plane ride. It was now nighttime and Sonic was back in his Werehog form. When they landed in the small village, they took in the scenery of the plentiful trees and mounted houses. 

"Let's go get some intel from the villagers about the Professor!" Sonic said.

"Good idea!" Tails replied to Sonic. "Let's go!"

The three walked around the village and ran to a villager girl named Ana.

"Hello! and welcome to our wonderful village of Mazuri! My name is Ana! What brings you strangers here!" She asked.

"We're looking for the Professor from Spagonia! His assistant said he was kidnapped here!" Tails replied.

"Ah, Professor Pickle?" "You need to go through that gate with the sun and moon sign in order to access his location." "Be careful though, word has been going around that there are monsters in there!" Ana warned them.

"No problem! I'll beat em up for you!" Sonic said.

"Oh thank you, thank you!" Ana said to Sonic. "On behalf of the whole village, we wish you luck on your adventure!"

"Thank you!" "Alright gang let's get going!" Sonic said.

"I think I'm gonna sit this one out Sonic." Tails said. "I'm going to do some investigating around the village." "Give me the say so when you've made it to the Professor."

"Okay Tails! I'll see you soon pal! C'mon Chip! We've got some monsters to beat up!" Sonic said excited.

"Okay Sonic." Chip said unenthusiastically.

Sonic and Chip proceeded to head to the gate and investigated the area where the monsters were lurking. Sonic defeated the monsters one by one with his new Werehog moves. He also solved some puzzles and did some tricky platforming to maneuver through the area. 

"We're almost there buddy! Just need to get past these swarms of enemies." Sonic said to Chip. "I'll notify Tails."

Sonic pounded through the last swarm of enemies and made it to the location where Professor Pickle was. He notified Tails that it was safe to go through and that all the enemies were defeated. Tails flew through the area and eventually reached Sonic and Chip.

"After you Tails." Sonic said.

Tails went through the door first then Sonic and Chip followed. They eventually reached Professor Pickle where he was kept in a glass container.

"Professor Pickle!" Tails shouted in his winy voice. "Are you alright? We got here as fast as we could!"

"Hmmm" The professor murmured.

"Professor?"

"Um hello?" Chip questioned.

"Will you two shut up and let the man speak?" Sonic said annoyed.

"Sorry!" Chip said.

"How dare they call this culinary concoction food?" "Look here, do you see this sorry excuse for a sandwich? The bread should be no less than 3/4 of an inch thick. Upon it, one tablespoon of mayonnaise and a pinch of black pepper." 

Tails and Chip looked at each other with confused looks.

"The contents, fresh cucumber, sliced thinly if you please! Am I quite right Tails?"

"I know I learned something new today!" Chip said.

"Um glad to see you haven't changed Professor." Tails said.

"But tell me, what brings you here! The menu is hardly worth the trip if you ask me!"

"No Professor! We came here to rescue you!" Tails said annoyed.

Tails pushed the button of the contraption that the Professor was kidnapped in.

"Oh I'm sorry how rude of me!" The professor said. "Right then, first things first! It's about time someone taught the chef here how to make a proper sandwich!"

"You can a file a complaint later Professor!" Tails said annoyed.

"Let's get out of here before Eggman's welcoming committee shows up! Sonic said.

"Oh yes! Quite!" "Let us be sure to collect the contents of that vault before departing!"

Sonic nodded and falcon punched the vault with his fist so they could get out of there. Tails went in and found the Professor's documents and handed it to him.

"Ah thank you! Those documents are our only hope for surviving this crisis!" "Let's go! There's no time to waste!" "I'm quite starved after being fed those horrible sandwiches!"

"Want some chocolate Professor?" Chip asked and handed him the chocolate bar.

"My my! Don't mind if I do!" The Professor grabbed the chocolate bar.

They all proceeded to head out of the base and went over to Tails' plane.

"We need to head back to Spagonia to retrieve these documents and so I can explain what is happening to the world right now!"

"What are waiting for! Tails let's go back to Spagonia!" Sonic said.

"Okay! Hold on tight everyone!"
