Chapter 6: The Truth about Dark Gaia

Sonic, Tails, Chip and the Professor landed back in the continent of Spagonia and went into Professor Pickle's lab. Professor Pickle proceeded to explain what was going on with the planet as Chip was drinking hot tea.

"These ancient documents are known as the Gaia Manuscripts! They tell the legend of a disaster that befell our planet some tens of thousands years ago."

"A disaster?" Tails questioned.

"Quite, and according to the Gaia Manuscripts, this isn't the first time the planet has been broken apart into pieces."

Sonic and Tails looked at each other with disbelief.

"The cause lies at the very core of the planet. All the phenomena we've witnessed are the direct result of one creature. The hyper-energy organism spawned at the planet's core... Dark Gaia.

Chip looked frightened at the words of the Professor, and Sonic pushed him back.

"So how do we stop this Dark Gaia and put the world back together?" Tails asked.

"Luckily Dark Gaia has yet to be fully reborn. We most likely have Dr. Eggman's premature wake-up call to thank for that." The Professor said in a sarcastic undertone. "If we act now, we may be able to restore the planet by returning power to the chaos emeralds."

"Sonic, you must travel to each of the Gaia Temples listed in the Gaia manuscripts. The planet's power will restore the chaos emeralds and in turn, the chaos emeralds will restore the planet and help it heal naturally.

Meanwhile... back in Mazuri

Eggman had his robots surrounding the villagers of Mazuri. They were not to pleased.

"Who are you?" One of the villagers asked.

"Oh ho ho ho ho! Fear not my good villagers! If you behave, I won't have to do anything nasty. All you need to do is tell me where the Temple of Gaia is.

"We're not telling you anything!" The villager shouted and threw a rock at the egg-shaped doctor.

Orbot, his assistant proceeded to laugh at him.

"Argh! One more peep out of you and I'll dismantle you!" Eggman said to the robot.

Orbot quickly shut up.

"So you dare to defy me do you?"

Sonic's POV:

Sonic, Tails, and Chip were back on the Tornado heading back to Mazuri. As they got closer, they noticed that Eggman was there.

"Let me go check this out, "Sonic said.

Sonic jumped out of Tails' plane and landed where the villagers were. He then destroyed all of Eggman's robots right in front of him.

"Yo, Eggman! Thanks for that little skydiving adventure the other day!"

"Argh! I should've known you still be alive you stubborn little hedgehog!"

"Yeah, I'm alive! Tails and I blasted your egg ship remember?"

"Right."

"What are you doing out here?" Sonic said angrily.

"I have no reason to tell you. In any case, I'm busy! Farewell!"

Eggman flew away in his stupid pod.

"Hey wait! That's playing dirty! Come back here!"

"Just leave it," Sonic said. "Is everyone here alright?"

The villagers nodded yes to Sonic and thanked him for his help.

"Sonic! Eggman said he's looking for the Temple of Gaia in Mazuri. We didn't tell him anything though!"

"Well well, looks like we'll have to get to it first before Eggman does!" "C'mon Chip let's roll!"
