Chapter five ..............

I'm trying to forget about my ex boyfriend staying overnight in my house but I just can't get him off my mind . Okay I think before I head off to the beach with my friends for the day I'll make myself a nice hot cup, of coffee. Plus I'm gonna surf today I'm teacher is gonna be Sarah but watch her force Cody to teach me so she and the rest of the gang can glow up about how cute of a couple we'd be . I make the cup of hot coffee faint god he's at the gym right now so I can stop thinking about him . Ring . Ring . It's Sarah here we go watch this guys . Sarah hey I'm on my way now I said into the phone. Sarah - hey uh I hurt my shoulder can Cody teach ya just for the day ? Ashley- you hurt ya shoulder ? . I don't believe that for a second. Sarah - just get ya butt down here bye . Hangs up on her and grabs my surf board to toss it onto the Jeep . Then I tie it up and then I'm all set to go to the beach . I hop in my Jeep and drive to the beach . Drinking ice water instead of ice coffee for once while I'm on my way there . When I get there and park I saw Cody . I jumped out of my Jeep quickly and untied my surf board off the top of my Jeep before he could help . Cody - hey ash need some help ? Ashley- I think I got it this time Cody . Thanks . Cody - okay meet you in the water he says running back towards the ocean. I smile at him and walked up the hot sand . Ouch , this is painful the sand is way too hot it definitely is 100 outside or more . This is Hawaii after all ! Sarah - hey sis need help with that ? I slam my board down onto the hot sand covered in sweat - I've got it guys . Sarah - okay take a break and meet us in the water . Brook waves while she's surfing. I waved back at her before watching her fall . I sat down in the sand and Brook runs up the hot sand towards me - hey ash . Ashley- hey nice waves ya just caught . Brook - i suck at surfing. Ashley - yeah Cody is gonna teach me how to surf I guess. Brook - I hope Kayla doesn't find out . Ashley- yeah but it's not a big deal he's not my boyfriend. Brook smiles at Cody - he's not ya boyfriend yet ash but ya two got chemistry for sure . Ashley - brook he's just my friend i definitely don't want a relationship right now I'm not in the right mind set I mean Andrew and I just broke up it hasn't been very easy. I saw him last night and I uh ...Well I kinda let him sleep overnight at my house he was hanging out with savanna and they seemed like they were having a nice day together I didn't want to kick him out. Brook - you didn't know he was home from Afghanistan? . Ashley- nope he used to tell me but not this time . Brook - wow I'm shook maybe they wanted to surprise you even tho ya two broke up . Ashley- I never thought of it that way but now ya mention it probably. Brook - it's also his house to ash so I think ya did the right thing letting him stay overnight plus savanna is his daughter ya can't change that . Ashley sighs - yeah I know you've definitely got a point ...he made me coffee when I was up like old times and it was actually nice . Brook - don't get back together with him tho ya can do way better then a guy who ignores you ash . Ashley - I don't want a boyfriend. Brook - okay well keep telling yourself that I'm gonna go surf are you gonna join me ?! Ashley- yeah . I get up grabbing my surf board let's go . We run into the ocean jump on our surf boards watching out for sharks . The water is ice blue you can easily see if there is sharks it makes me feel safer vs Rhode Island beaches ya can't see anything in that water and that scares me but I go swimming to cool off Because I always get too hot !. I found Cody In the water getting up on my surf board right next to him I say - Cody !!!! Cody shoots me a thumbs up catching his wave then it's my turn after him catching my wave next . We each took turns catching small waves and it felt like we were alone my besties got outta the ocean as fast as possible and ran up the beach with their boards . So basically Cody and I were alone . I was catching my last wave of the day when outta the corner of my eye I saw Andrew standing next to my friends cheering me on and I lost my balance. Falling backwards into the water . Shit . I hit my ankle on a rock and cut it ouch . I pop my head above the water Cody swam with his surf board toward me and said - you're bleeding ash are ya okay take my hand . I took his hand and gave my surf board to Sarah who dove in and swam to us to get it . Sarah - are you okay ash ? . She's swimming with us back to shore . Cody - she's gonna be okay I'm a lifeguard I've got a kit I'm gonna go get in the house . Ashley- I forgot he works at this beach I laugh as we swam to shore . Andrew. Ash ya okay? Ashley- yeah I'm fine I lost my balance is all . Cody - here sit down let me see that ankle . I sat on my surf board and put my ankle up on his towel he had placed on his lap - is it a big or small cut ? I ask him . Cody - it's a small cut you're lucky . Yo chase come here a minute he called over his best friend who's on duty today . Chase runs over - hey is everything good bro ? Cody - ash got cut can ya get me a kit please . Chase - be right back bro he runs upstairs to the lifeguard house to get me a med kit and brook is drooling over him . Sarah likes him tho it's her crush - hey brook ya should shut you're mouth before the ocean falls outta it and you got fishy breathe . Brook glares at her - what did you just call me? Sarah - grow up ya got a bf I don't back off chase . Brook - brook . Chase . Brook . Chase . It just mashes well don't you think ? She blushed . Sarah - I'm going surfing I've heard enough bull crap bye . I laugh . Cody gets the kit from chase thanks man . Cody patched up my ankle and then chase asks him - hey is Sarah single she's really cute . Brook rolls her eyes at chase and gets up grabbing her surf board ok I'm gonna head out feel better ash bye boys she says I'm guessing she's mad at chase . Cody - I think she is . Chase - I'll get her number then before ya guys leave . Ashley and I - okay. Chase - feel better ash . Oh hey Andrew I didn't know you were here . He walked away. Andrew- ash you sure you're okay I can take ya home if ya want to rest . Ashley- I'll survive thanks ...uh what are ya doing here anyways ? Andrew- I wanted to watch ya guys surf . Ashley- okay. I didn't know what to say to him . Cody - ya okay man ya look pale ? Andrew- I'm fine nice job out there ash I will see ya later before I go back home . Ashley- home ? As in home home I asked him .
