"You never come unprepared do you," Victor smirks."I'm here in a world that I'm entirely unfamiliar with. There's nothing wrong with being prepared," I counter.
"Fair enough."
"So what's the genius plan, Dove," Dante asks.
"Oh, I missed being called that! Anyways, back to the plan. So once a month, Alexander lets his guards out to spend time with family friends, be free."
I explain to them that the guards leave in the evening and don't return until the following evening.
"All 207 of them?" Dante asks, his mouth open.
"Well I'm not sure how many he has, but sure. All 207 of them."
The questions and conversations go back and forth.
"We can go late in the night when everyone is usually asleep." I suggest. "Not all the guards will go. There will be 6 staying inside the house. Two for each level of the building. Isabel is on the 2nd floor, 2nd hallway, 3rd door on the left."
"What do we do about them?"
Clearly his brain wasn't working in the shock of knowing his love was still alive.
And he had the audacity to say that I was dumber than a pigeon in the mornings.
"We really only need to quietly knock out the men on the first and second floor. As for the other guards, and Alexander, we just need to keep silent."
He nodded and then in a hushed tone said, "Whatever planning we choose do, do it in person. Phone calls are easily traceable."
What a genius.
"Along with that, we should go without shoes," I warned.
He looked at me like I had just revived a dinosaur. "Its a wooden floor, your shoes will make noises," I explain. "Unlike the fancy carpet you have lined over your tiles."
"Wait when are we doing this?"
"The day that he's giving off is Friday which means, the men leave Thursday evening. Meet me at his gates at midnight."
Both of them nodded. I looked back at the clock.
"I need to leave now, before Alexander comes back from his yacht date."
"Date?" Victor asked.
"So, long story short, he's dating his assistant."
"Sounds like someone else I know," Dante mocked, leaning towards Victor and swinging back.
"Dante," Victor said in a hushed tone.
"What?" I laughed.
"Inside joke, you wouldn't understand," Dante explained.
"Okay then," I dragged.
Victor began pushing me out the door, "Come on, you have places to be," He laughed.
"I'm going, I'm going!" I laughed, leaning back on him. I turned around and he dropped his arm. I look up at him.
"What?"
I wanted to ask him so many things. "Does this mean, I'm free?"
He takes a deep breath, hands on his hips, head tilted up to the sky. Like always.
"I guess so," he says, looking back down at me. To be honest, those were not the words I wanted to hear from him. I wanted to stay here. I wanted to stay with Victor. With the memory of my mama.
I needed to brighten up the mood a bit.
"Well, sucks for you, because I'm not leaving any time soon," I giggled.
His expression changed so fast. "I don't think that's a bad thing," he smiled, ear to ear.
I walk back down the lawn and he follows. I toss myself on to the bike, that just stood there, with it's tracks that followed it across the lawn when I ripped onto the property. Lucky for me, Victor didn't say anything.
Dante just watched from the side. I gave him a nod in acknowledgement, and then I turned the bike around and sped off.
