As they finally boarded to New York. Delilah and Scarlett were going to stay at Savannah's apartment and have dinner with her parents house later. As they were driving to Savannah's house, you could tell it was where the wealthy lived. The houses were huge and extravagant. The lawns were perfectly mowed and was bright green. It was absolutely beautiful, but as they passed through all those houses, all Delilah could do was grimace.

When they finally made it to Savannah's house, Delilah had to stare in awe at how huge it was. It was amazing and as an architect, she had to give props to whoever designed the house. It was at least three stories tall and was Mediterranean inspired. the driveway circled around and in the center was a water fountain that matched the marble house. Even in the dark, everything sparkled as there were lights everywhere.

"Oh my goodness, I love it." Scarlett was  marveled by the house for a second before getting over as it wasn't something she had never seen before. Her's was just as huge.

"Your house looks amazing Savv." As they walked their way up the white front steps that fanned out, all Delilah could do was analyze the interior, exterior, and materials.

"I know, my parents take pride in it, but wait till you see the back, it looks even better than the front."

That was exactly what Scarlett had said to Delilah the first time she visited her house in Washington DC, and when she saw the huge pool with the lights sparkling down on it, it was magical. Delilah couldn't imagine what Savannah's backyard would look like. She also couldn't imagine what it costs to live in a house like this, especially in New York, the estate here must have costed millions.

As they made their way in, Savannah's parents came to greet them. Her dad was over 6 feet and still looked good, even for his age. Delilah could tell Tyler got his looks from his dad and it was obvious where Savannah got her looks from. She looked just like her mom. They both were gorgeous, it was almost unfair.

Savannah's mom walked to her opening her arms to hug her, squeezing her tight. "Savv, it's so good to see you again." She kissed her cheeks over and over again.

Savannah tried pulling away but her mom kept her in her grasp. "Mom. Okay, mom, let me go."

"It's not everyday I get to see you."

"Let her go Mia, I need a hug from he too."

As her mom let her go, Savannah hugged her dad too who kissed her on the cheeks as well.

"So, who do we have here." Her mother, who had a big warm smile on her face looked super exited at seeing Delilah and Scarlett.

Savannah, who was finally free from her parents grasp finally got the chance to introduce her friends to them. "Mom, Dad, this here is Scarlett Hilton and Delilah Paige. Scarlett, Delilah, these are my parents, Maxwell and Mia."

When Delilah held her hand out to shake their hands, she was shocked when Savannah's mom ignored it and pulled her in for a hug instead. "Oh my goodness, it is so nice to meet you." She went on to hug Scarlett to while she kept conversing, "You know, this is the first time Savv has ever brought home any girl friends. It's usually just Tyler's friends that she hangs out with and comes over all the time."

"It's very nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Gosling." Delilah smiled at the two and shook Mr. Gosling's hand.

"Yes, it's very nice to meet you guys." Scarlett smiled brightly at the two.

"Oh please, call me Mia."

"And call me Maxwell."

"Come, hurry, lets eat before the food gets cold. We can talk over dinner."

Over dinner, they talked about several things, and Delilah came to like Savannah's parents, they reminded her of Scarlett's parents who she was very fond of too. They were so homey and welcoming, it would be hard for anyone not to like them.

After dinner, the three of them left for Savannah's apartment that was in the city and closer to the charity event occurring the next night.

"Your parent's are lovely."

Rolling her eyes at Delilah, Savannah scoffed. "They're annoying is what they are."

Although it was supposed to be a light and funny comment, as much as Delilah tried to force a smile, what came out was bitter grimace.

And upon seeing that, Savannah's brows furrowed slightly in confusion and looked over at Scarlett who just shook her head. "Lilah's mother passed away when she was 16, luckily, she had enough to support her through high school and now, she made it to Harvard on a full scholarship. As for her father, she never really knew him." Scarlett tried acting optimistic saying that last part, but the air in the car was still stuffy.

Savannah's face fell, "Oh...I'm sorry for your loss Lilah. And I'm sorry for my inappropriate speech."

Delilah shook her head and forced a chuckle to lighten the mood, "It's ok. She wasn't much of a mother to me either ways. She was never there for me. You don't have to be sorry. "

Nodding at Delilah, Savannah decided to change the subject, "Well anyways, so tomorrow, we can do whatever you two want and then at 4, my mom has people coming to the apartment to get us ready for the event at 8. Is everything ok?"

Scarlet jumped in her seat excitedly. "Perfect!"

Delilah forced a smile on her face and made an ok gesture with her hands. "Great." Yeah. Everything was great(!)

When they got to the apartment, Savannah showed them to their own separate bedrooms they were staying in and after getting ready for bed, Delilah crashed on her bed tired from the long day she had. But even as her eyes felt tired, she couldn't go to sleep. Tomorrow was the charity event and no matter how many times she tried to ignore the gut wrenching feeling inside her, she couldn't.

She was nervous and as much as she had been trying to mentally prepare herself for tomorrow all week, she just couldn't. The anxiety in her was eating her away. She really didn't want to go tomorrow and she wondered how she got in this position in the first place. Why was she in New York, she hated New York, she never wanted to go to New York, she never in her life wanted to be in New York. How did she suddenly get in New York. From the west coast as a girl from Washington, she thought she was far away from New York and even when she got accepted into Harvard she was already reluctant to go as it was about 4 hours away from New York. She thought it was enough to distance herself from the place, but she guessed not, because here, she was in the place she vowed she would never step in.

How was she going to make it tomorrow.
