What was basically a category 2 hurricane came onto Land and destroyed so much. It came through the entire state of Iowa. There was a billion dollars worth of crop damage and Iowa. Iowa's first, second third and 4th largest cities all got hit.
This storm had over 100 mile an hour winds and left millions without power. Some are still without power now.
An estimated 10 billion dollars worth of damages occurred. This storm had traveled over 700 miles in 14 hours.
In the Cedar Rapids area, nearly every building has damaged, most businesses are closed. And Internet and LTE is from spotty to nonexistent.
What happened was duratio which is basically a land hurricane.
To put Iowa into perspective, they are #1 in corn production, #1 in soybean production #1 in pig production and #1 in egg production.
And so far, up to 50 percent of the state's crops were destroyed in the storm. And a picture taken a couple days ago in space from space showed a light green area which is just flattened fields
