On 9/11 500,000 (Five hundred thousand)  people were evacuated from Manhattan Island by boat and less than 9 hours on 9/11 it's, the largest sea evacuation in history.

When the radio signal went out to alert all boaters for help to help people get off Manhattan Island on the day of the twin towers collapse so many boaters showed up.

The people who sent out the radio call were uncertain to who was going to respond.

15 to 20 minutes later, there we're boats across the horizon.

There were literally more than 100 targets converging on the lower part of Manhattan Island. When people came out of the desk, cloud caused by twin towers falling.

There were so many tug boats there. And all sorts of boats were there if it floated it got there That day.

All different sizes and shapes of boat we're zooming across the water to help people.

Ferry boats, private boats, party boats all kinds of boats were there.

Rest in peace to all those lives that were lost on that tragic day, andshout out to other boaters that came to the New Yorkers on 911 and helped evacuate the city!!
