JANUARY

A few weeks had passed and January came. I didn’t get a single text from Y/N after that night. I was waiting but I never really got anything. I debated whether to just own up and send him a text first, but I didn’t want to seem too eager.

I also wanted to make sure that I wasn’t contacting a sasaeng fan. But I still couldn’t help checking my phone a lot more. I thought that he’d forgotten me already or that was just a one time thing. I was a bit sad, but I didn’t want to overthink things and just continued my normal schedules and routines. Until one day, we were in a rush for a scheduled interview and I forgot to charge my phone.

We were out the whole day and I didn’t really bother asking for a charger or power bank since I wasn’t really expecting anything important

We were out the whole day and I didn’t really bother asking for a charger or power bank since I wasn’t really expecting anything important. As our schedules for the day ended, I finally got to lay down on my bed. I charged my phone and I saw a notification for a new message I opened it and leapt to my feet, Y/N messaged me. I let out a shriek of delight but quickly placed a hand over my mouth to shut myself up. I took a few deep breaths before I replied,

"~Sorry it took me so long to reply, I was busy the whole day.~"

"~Plus my phone died since I forgot to charge it before I went out.~"

"~I've been fine, how about you? It's been a while ^^ I wasn't sure if you still remembered me.~"

Did I answer too fast? Did I send too many messages at once? Will he misunderstand me? I should have thought my reply over before hitting send! Ugh! I flopped back onto my bed and hugged my penguin plushie tight.

I held up my penguin to my face

I held up my penguin to my face. “Pingu,” I said. “Am I doing the right thing? Do you think Y/N is a decent guy and not a sasaeng?” My plushie stared at me blankly with its cute cartoon face. “Silence means yes,” I said. I stared at Pingu as if expecting a reply. I sat up and rubbed my face. I was already starting to ask advice from an inanimate object. This guy was making me not be like my usual self. “Should I be concerned?” I wondered aloud.

A chime from my phone shook me from my thoughts. “Y/N replied”. I quickly opened his message. He had replied almost immediately. He explained why he hadn't kept in touch after that night. “Ah, so I wasn’t the only one who was busy,” I thought to myself. Okay, calm down. He didn’t seem to mind my late reply to his message earlier. My phone chimed again as another message from Y/N popped up, “Hey, If you’re free this weekend do you want to go out and catch up?”
