Me: It may only be five months since we've been in quarantine. But it feels more like eight to me right now. Especially since it's Augest, which is the eighth month of the year and my twenth birthday is coming up soon, and all because of the stupid virus, I don't have that many big plans now.

I've had this dream ever since I created The Teen Gang... I always dream of having a big themed birthday party with all my friends and family at our house, The Teen Gang in all forms everywhere around me. The Teen Gang as posters, The Teen Gang on cups, plates, napkins, even on wrapping paper and party hats. But does any of that happen?... Let's just say... Only in my dreams! I'm still trying to get The Teen Gang noticed on YouTube and Wattpad, but they will get more noticed!

Ahem, anyways... As I was saying, I am still fortunate enough to at least see my friends again, even if it is over a computer screen, but sometimes you got to work with what you got. So, I was talking to my good friend Rose on my mom's cellphone when she gave me a great idea to do a birthday zoom room, because obviously my family and friends can't physically join me, which sucks.

I told her that's a great idea and that she's so smart, but wait! I thought to myself, there's two things I have to do... One, figure out what time to have the meeting, and whose gonna be there, obviously I still need to invite some people, but who?

So next wee came around quickly, and I needed to start figuring out the time, and who can come. I was in the kitchen with my mom talking about it, when she said that I do it during the time of our regularly scheduled family zoom room meeting, which I thought was an even more brilliant idea, because sine the family will already be there, my friends could pop in!

Even though my birthday is still another week away, I just can't wait to have my first ever birthday zoom room, with my friends and family there, and The Teen Gang, of course. This may not be a big party, but just being able to digitally see and talk to my friends again, will make me the happiest black girl in the whole wide world.
