"Murky... swampy. No. Grimy? Bloopy?" I mused.

"What are you talking about?" Situ asked.

"That black mist. It's kinda... what's the word? Dour? That doesn't seem right!" I said, struggling.

"Black? Can we just use black?" Situ asked.

"Dank! I like dank. It looks dank." I said.

The dank black mist started to roll in.

"I don't think we should breathe in the dank mist." Situ said.

"Agreed." I said.

We covered our faces with random bits of shirt. It wasn't perfect, but hopefully we could get out okay. We walked into the hallway where the black mist was the thickest, and immediately got our hands shot by little pebbles.

"CRAP! OW!" I said, lowering my hands.

"I DIDN'T GET TO BREAK AN ELBOW YESTERDAY AND DANG IT I mrrrph~" Situ exclaimed. She's a bit vicious but I was with her until the mrrph. I looked over to her and got slapped in the face with something too. It was kind of leathery, but there were eye holes.

"It's a gas mask." A voice said from the blackness. Out stepped Clint. I'd never really seen his face due to his constant erratic motion in class, and now that he was still and focused, I... still couldn't see his face. "Buckle it in the back."

Me and Situ did so. Clint became clearer as he stepped further out of the fog. Aside from the gas mask and a slingshot he kept handy, the only weird thing about him was a rather large and ornate sack on his back.

Clint began explaining. "Sonya gave me this bag. It has enough masks for everyone except her. She made two predictions. First, that we would all need these masks today, and second-"

"That she wouldn't need one." We all droned in unison.

"Yep. By the way, weird stuff happens in the gas. If you walk through it, you see it. If you breathe it in, you believe it. Pretty strong superpower for a villain to have." Clint continued. "We should escape and plan."

"We need to find someone." Situ said.

"Bad idea." Clint replied. "They're probably deranged."

"True." Situ replied.

"Honestly... I'm not sure." I said. You guys didn't see it... but I don't think she breathes."

"We don't know where she is. It's not safe." Clint said.

"The office. She said she went there a lot. Her and the professor are probably holed up in there!" I said.

"You... want to kidnap the professor's daughter?" Clint questioned.

"Not kidnap! Just... borrow for a bit." I replied. "We totally got permission from a superhero so it's fine." I showed him the note.

"That is indeed way less messy than your writing." Clint mused. "Alright. We're going to have to be very stealthy, so that no one sees us. Blitz for the office." Clint said, sounding shockingly cool for a total spaz. "We have limited masks, but take two."

"Roger!" Me and Situ replied. Was Clint secretly cool the whole time? The question wasn't lost to me as we started our perilous journey through the halls of the school we had been at for 3 months now. The mist started out black as night, but gradually faded into a shockingly pleasant blue. A brown floor began to emerge, and suddenly we were on the deck of a cruise ship. Not any cruise ship though, the cruise ship. The one that was destroyed when the villains showed up, but this time it was perfect. No problems, no issues, just a bright gusty day out on the ocean.
