When Skriniar wakes up,he is confused, to say the least.
He finds Chris and D'Ambro sleeping in the defender's bed and kind of hugging.

What the hell happened last night? He knows he is a heavy sleeper, so it's possible that Chris came to their room and he didn't hear a thing. Today is a big day, it will be Chris' first match with the team.

It's in the Italian competition, against Fiorentina, at San Siro.

Luckily that means that they have the morning off from their training, and in the afternoon they'll do some warming up on the field and review the strategy,so Skriniar decides to get ready for breakfast and to wake his friends when he's finished.

Twenty minutes later he wakes Chris and D'Ambro.
D'Ambro mumbles a "good morning" and Chris does the same, with his cheeks painted bright red.
He is obviously embarassed about how Skriniar saw him and D'Ambro, but he calms down when he sees that in the number 37's eyes there isn't judgment, just curiosity.

"Sooo which one of you sleepy heads is gonna tell me what happened?"
When all that D'Ambrosio manages to do is grunt (not a morning person eh?) Skriniar looks at Chris, who still hasn't recovered from being woken up by the defender.

Chris explains everything, from his first day to what Brozo said to him last night. Not really talking about his anxiety; not that he couldn't trust Skriniar, but he felt safer with D'Ambrosio.

"Chris you should have told us. And i know that D'Ambrosio has probably already told you, but please don't believe what Brozo says.
We are your friends because we like you, and everybody knows you're an amazing player. You just need some time. When i say we, i'm talking about the other guys too, Barella, Bastoni and Handanovic."

Chris is speechless, he never would have thought that Skriniar cared about him almost as much as D'Ambrosio did.
"Yes D'Ambro already told me, but it means a lot coming from you too. I shouldn't have listened to Brozo, but he just kind of played with my worst fears.
I know now that you care about me and i'm glad to have all of you as friends."

Skriniar smiles, it's the longest he ever heard the blonde talking.
"I'm gonna leave you two to get ready, see you at breakfast"
With that and a little wave of the hand, he closes the door.

Chris doesn't know what to do. The thought of going back to his room and the possibility of meeting Brozo are creating a knot in his stomach.

He slowly gets up from the bed as D'Ambrosio says
"You can use our bathroom, obviously. You don't have to go back to your room if you don't want to."

"Thanks. But i need clothes, i think i'll have to go there anyway"

"Mmh alright. See you in ten minutes ok? I'm not gonna let you out of my sight anytime soon" , the italian says laughing, trying to lighten the mood.
Apparently it works, because he hears Chris giggle while he closes the door, walking once again towards room 28.

When Chris enters the room, he sighs in relief, noticing that Brozo isn't there. He starts getting ready and ten minutes later (on time, as always) D'Ambrosio is at his door and they walk together to the cafeteria.

Chris and D'Ambrosio go to seat with the others, who already know everything about last night because Skriniar filled them in while they were waiting for the other two.

Chris is glad that the defender talked to the group, leaving him to only answer some questions and listen to all the "you should have told us".

All considered, he's happy to finally feel like he's part of the team.

Or, at least, this silly and caring team that is currently eating breakfast with him.
