Another Day

Wake up. Get ready. Pray. (Insert eye roll here.) Eat. Leave. Suffer. Come home. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

That's my life. That's all that happened this week. Sure, there were other details but the exact order of my current social life consisted of these.

Of course, on Wednesday nights my parents force me and my sister to go to youth group and on Thursdays we stack chairs at church. Sundays we have church and Sunday nights we have prayer meetings.

Pray and read your bible and help out at church. That's all we ever do, or so it seems. Of course, somehow Anna always gets out of going to church.

See, my sister, Anna, is a much better liar than me. I feel uncomfortable whenever I try to lie to my parents and I run out of excuses.

This weekend would be different than usual. My parents were away at some prayer retreat in Oregon. Anna and I were alone.

Anna waltzed down the stairs. My sixteen year old sister always had more cheerfulness and a much better demeanor than I.

"Hey Cassie." She called. God, I hated that nickname. She smiled at my obvious frustration. We didn't usually get along.

"I'm having a friend over. Just, don't tell mom." I chuckled at that. I wasn't planning on tattling. I couldn't care less who my sister had over. I knew it was probably a guy, and I knew what they'd probably be doing. It's not like this was the first time she had a guy over in my parent's absence.

The doorbell rang and a smile played on Anna's lips. "He's here." She skipped to the door and I heard the muffled noise of a man's voice from the other room.

I sat at the kitchen island and read my book. It read:

"Leviticus contains two prohibitions against homosexual activity:

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.  Leviticus 18 v 22, ESV

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. Leviticus 20 v 13, ESV"

"Hey, Cassie, you two know each other, right?" Anna said as she entered the kitchen again. I looked up and spotted a pair of beautiful green eyes.

My heart skipped a beat. Dean stared into my eyes for the second time in my live and it felt as magnificent as the first.

"I've seen you around. I haven't ever properly introduced myself." His gruff yet soft voice said.

He extended his hand and shook mine. "I'm Dean." He said. His grip was strong and his hands were warm and soft.

"I'm Castiel." I squeaked out. He released my hand from his grip and followed Anna up the stairs to her room.

I knew how this night would end. Dean would spend the night. That was fine except I wished that he were spinning the night with me, not Anna.

The verse from Leviticus ran through my head. "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination."

The writer of Leviticus, Moses, didn't understand. How could he? It was obvious that Moses had never met anyone as spectacular as Dean Winchester.
