Chapter 30: Tricked

As Hidan went to lick up the blood, his tongue touching it as his eyes widened.

Rose smirked as Shikamaru caught him in the shadow possession, as Hidan growled.

"This isn't blood! You bitch, this is lipstick!" Hidan yelled as Rose laughed.

"Taken from the one and only, Tsunade. Hidan, I can travel through shadows. I'm faster than your tiny peanut sized brain can even comprehend. Although, there is one girl who rivals my speed..." Rose said with a smile as Shikamaru smiled.

"You stupid little...you switched your blood for lipstick in that amount of time!? You're insane!" Hidan yelled as Rose smirked, capping the lipstick as Shikamaru smirked as well.

"Aww, the albino is mad." Rose teased as Hidan growled.

Shikamaru made Hidan drop his scythe, running off as Rose went serious.

"Now for Kakuzu. Stupid creep. God I hate this." Rose complained as she ran to help Kakashi.

"I've just prolonged my life by stocking up on people hearts, replacing mine before it dies from old age." Kakuzu said as everyone except Rose's eyes widened.

"Yeah. The recycling bin tried to steal mine at one point." Rose shrugged as she stood back to back with Kakashi, watching the creatures as they approached them.

Two of the creatures started to morph together, as Rose's sharingan swirled to life.

Shikamaru stared with wide and scared eyes up at Hidan, who's skin was black as he laughed down at Shikamaru.

Hidan raised his large metal spike, stabbing himself in the hand as he started to draw his ritual circle on the ground.

Hidan smirked as he raised the spike high above his head, smiling crazily as Shikamaru laid on the floor, blood dripping from his cheek as he gritted his teeth.

"Oh, how I've been waiting for this! Die!" Hidan yelled as he brought the spike down.

Rose and Kakashi dodged attacks repeatedly, jumping out of the way of the fire, wind, and lighting style attacks.

Rose disappeared, reappearing in front of the morphed creature as she swung her katana, attempting to slice them as the lightning style one shot at her.

The lightning missed however, as the creature was dragged under ground, Kakashi jumping out of the ground as he blocked fire and wind attacks from the morphed creature.

Kakashi jumped high into the air, taking his eyes off of kakuzu, only for thread like tentacles to wrap around his arms and legs, slamming him to the ground as Kakuzu jumped on top of him.

"It is over now. I will take you heart, and replace the one you have taken from me." Kakuzu said as Rose growled.

Hidan slammed the metal through his chest, Shikamaru grabbing his own as Hidan laughed.

"Pain can be so addicting, can't it?" Hidan laughed with a crazed look, Shikamaru staring at the ground with wide eyes as a memory of Asuma's dying face in his arms flashed through his head.

"I'm counting on you, Shikamaru."

Shikamaru fell to his side, Asuma's lighter falling out his pocket as Hidan coughed.

"How worthless. Jashin must be disappointed it's already over. Well, then. I'm sure kakuzu must be wrapping things up now, too." Hidan said with a smirk as he looked towards the direction where the others were.
