Chapter 14
Tonight is the first "normal" night that I had with my mom ever since the horrible "Welcome Home" party. We're eating chinese food at the dining table.
"So how was school today?" my mom asks.
"Uh, it was interesting," I reply.
"Okay Isabelle….," my mom says with a puzzled look.
"Are you going to work tomorrow?" I ask my mom.
"Only if you go to school tomorrow," my mom says.
"Then you're going to work tomorrow!" my mom and I both laugh.
We finish dinner and my mom cleans up as I go upstairs and get ready for bed.

I lay in bed. I just lay there, waiting. I wait to have my dream - or nightmare - again. But, this time will be different, I'll try and get Jeremy to finish saying what he needed to say before he gets shot. I close my eyes and try and drift off into a calm sleep. Nothing. I roll over and lay on the right side; I close my eyes again. Nothing.

"Hey, so did you have the dream last night?" Maddie asks me as we stand in front of school waiting to go in.
"No. I tried everything! I even counted sheep, but nothing," I told her a little upset.
"Did you even go the sleep?" she asks.
"Yeah, but I didn't have my dream," I tell her.
"Hmmm…..that's weird," she says.
"Yeah, it is," I reply then the bell rings and we go into school.
