~Chapter 3~
The letter from Jeremy made me so happy! That today, on Saturday, my mom and I are going to write back. While my mom was writing her part of the letter and I was writing my part.
"Honey do you want to share your letter?" my mom asked.
"Um sure, here it goes:
Dear Jeremy,
I miss you so much! Like way too much! I really wanted you to drive me to school on the first day, but you had to leave. Why did you have to leave so
so soon? Why did you leave at all?! I really need a big brother right now! I have so many questions to ask you! Like, on the first day of school, all the boys
were talking about me, why? And the girls in my class hate me now; I just really need you here Jeremy! When are you coming back? I need you here to
help me with my homework, keep me busy (because watching 16 and Pregnant everyday gets boring) and I really need a big brother. I love you so much,
Jeremy! Please come home soon! There's this Father/Daughter Dance coming up at my school and since daddy is gone, I was just wondering if you
would
like to come to the dance with me. It's on December 21st. When you reply, please tell me when you're coming back home. I love you Jeremy! Be safe!
- Bells"
"That was wonderful, Belle", my mom told me.
"Thanks mom. I'm going to go upstairs and read", I told her.
"Okay honey. Um we're going to have pizza for dinner, OK?" she asked me.
"Sure", I said as I went upstairs and into Jeremy's bedroom. I looked through all of his shelves and finally found it: his middle school year book! I plopped myself on his bed and began to look through the book. Jeremy was very popular. He was voted "Best Hair", "Best Eyes", "Best Personality", "Most Likely to Succeed", "Class Favorite" and more. I flipped through all the pages and eventually fell asleep.

On Monday, before my mom drove me to school, we went to the post office and mailed our letters to Jeremy.
"Mom, when do you think Jeremy will get our letters?" I wondered.
"I don't know the exact time he'll get them, but hopefully soon", she told me. After we kissed our letters and sent them away I jumped into my mom's car and she drove me to school. During the whole car ride, I kept thinking about Jeremy and my letter.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday my mom drove me to school at 7:45 am. I would go to school from 8:00am - 2:30pm. I would come home around 3:00pm every afternoon. But, before I would go into my house I would always check the mailbox. No letter from Jeremy. The next week I would do the same thing. Still, no letter from Jeremy!
"Mom! What is taking Jeremy so long to reply?!" I asked her while we were eating dinner Saturday night!
"Honey, we only sent him the letters just a week ago!" she informed me.
"So? A week's a lot! He should have them by now!" I yelled.
"Belle, Iraq is really far away! It's gonna take a while for him to get it", she told me.
"Well, I can't wait that long!" I yelled as a tear went down my face.
