Chapter 6: The Two Sides of Pandemonica

Before I start this chapter's intro I'd like to shout out sliverdagger he is currently writing a Helltaker story with permission to use Bryce and my versions of the girls. The story is called "helltaker:new Tenants", please check it out it's a rather unique and interesting story so far. Last time Cerberus followed Bryce to work, what awaits him this time around?

Pandemonica had been keeping her eye on Bryce ever since he mentioned his near death experience. While she either acted rather bored and tired or sadistic if she gets some coffee in her system. Speaking of coffee Bryce was approaching him with a cup of coffee for her. "Sorry, Lucy is still giving me a hard time with the whole almost getting shot thing." Bryce said with a frustrated sigh as he sat down across from Pandemonica before setting the mug down in front of her. "Well to be fair, you did almost die." Pandemonica said in her normal lazy tone as she picked up her mug and swirled the coffee around.
             "Yeah, I guess your right, still don't get why a demon would care if someone dies." Bryce said in confusion as he leaned back in his chair as he took a sip of his own cup of coffee as he still tried to wrap his head around it. Pandemonica then took a sip of her cup of coffee as she let out a content sigh before her horns seemed to get pointier and her eyes took on a sharper look.

"Do you just assume that being a demon means we lack feelings?" Pandemonica said in a dangerous tone as she was now in her sadistic mode. "That's not what I meant, I'm just surprised sympathy is something a demon could have is all." Bryce said as Pandemonica let out her evil cackle.
"I suppose I can't fault you for thinking like that! Although maybe I should break your arm, that way you'll be stuck home with us for a couple weeks." Pandemonica said as she took another sip from her coffee. Bryce let out a sigh as he got up from his chair as he made his way over to the couch. Pandemonica followed him as they both sat down as Bryce grabbed the T.V. Control. It was Sunday, which meant Formula 1 was coming on soon as it was almost nine o'clock. Bryce threw on the race as he got comfortable as Pandemonica watched him with a careful eye.
            Pandemonica never understood why Bryce and his cousin he seems to talk on the phone frequently to enjoy these races so much. "What's the entertainment of these races? It just seems like one big game of follow the leader to me." Pandemonica growled as she was annoyed by the rather boring race in her opinion at least. "While I can't disagree with the follow the leader notion, but you gotta appreciate the engineering that goes into these cars." Bryce said as Pandemonica gave him a confused look at the detective's newest statement made.
"What are you going on about? Do I have to break your fingers to get you to make sense?" Pandemonica said in a low growl as she gave Bryce a wicked smile. Bryce let out a sigh as he kept watching the race. "What I mean is Formula 1 cars have the most advanced engines in the world. They give a team of engineers as much money as they want to design an engine that is the most effective and efficient." Bryce explained as Pandemonica tilted her head to the side slightly at the explanation. "Oh please Bryce, how much could those glorified motors possibly cost to make?" Zdrada said as she took a drag from her cigarette.
             Bryce looked over at Zdrada as he cracked a small smile before he decided to answer her question. "The engine by itself costs 10.5 million dollars, like I said they give the engineers a rather large budget." Bryce said as Zdrada spewed a stream of smoke out of her mouth in shock. "What the actual fuck?! Those motors are worth more then this frickin house?!" Zdrada said as she tried to recover from her shock. "Yeah once they figure out how to make a super efficient engine, five to ten years down the line they figure out how to build those engines, but much cheaper." Bryce said as Zdrada leaned back in her chair, while deep in thought.
Pandemonica still looked over at Bryce with curiosity in her sharp eyes. "I feel like there's more to it then just that." Pandemonica said as she looked over at Bryce with curiosity in her eyes. Bryce let out a sigh as he leaned back into the couch. "Xander and I's grandfather when he brought my father and Xander's mother over here from Italy, he became a mechanic for race cars to support his family. I guess you could say that racing is in our blood." Bryce said as he thought about his Aunt and how her restaurant was doing and if she was worrying about Xander's safety as well, if he called her at all.
              After the Formula 1 race Bryce got to work on some extra paperwork that he had to fill out for Cerberus joining the K9 Unit. Pandemonica, despite being in her sadistic mode helped him with his work. Eventually the duo finished the work before Bryce had to go off and help Lucifer prepare dinner. Once everyone ate they all went about getting ready to settle in for the night. Bryce has changed into his sleep wear as he stretched before walking back down stairs only to find Pandemonica laying on the couch in her own pajamas as she was once again in her more tired mode as she watched T.V. lazily as he sat down next to her.

"I'm surprised you haven't gone to bed yet Pandemonica, you usually jump at the chance to sleep." Bryce said as the demon girl gently laid her head in Bryce's lap. "I wanted to watch a movie, care to join me?" Pandemonica asked as she looked up at Bryce with her normal tired eyes. "Sure thing sleepyhead, what's on?" Bryce asked as he looked at the screen only to see a scene of a archeological dig site. "Jurassic Park? Gotta say that's a pretty solid choice." Bryce said as he gently petted Pandemonica's head as the demon girl let out a content sigh at the gesture from Bryce.
Pandemonica gently snuggled into Bryce's lap as she stared at the T.V. screen with an indifferent expression on her face. "Bryce? You do know that we all care about you right? I know demons aren't the best at expressing that we care." Pandemonica said as she continued to watch the movie. Bryce looked down at Pandemonica as he cracked a small smile as he continued to pet the demon girl's head. "Of course I know that, don't worry nothing is gonna make me wanna get rid of you girls." Bryce said as he tried to put Pandemonica's mind at ease with his words.
Pandemonica let out a gentle hum as she thought about Bryce's words before she decided to ask her next question. "If you could go back in time to when that portal opened in your backyard, would you take a trip to hell and get us all over again?" Pandemonica asked as she was curious. Bryce smiles before gently kissing the top of Pandemonica's head. "You girls may drive me crazy, but I don't think I'd ever want life to go back to the way it was before meeting all of you. So yeah I'd take another trip to hell for you." Bryce said as a small smile spread across as she snuggled into Bryce's lap once again as they continued to enjoy watching the movie in silence.

So we got to see how Bryce spends his weekends and how he and Pandemonica get along!
