So last chapter we got a look into Bryce's life with the Demon girls. Now let's see what Bryce's work life is like! Will his life be anymore normal then his home life?
Bryce woke up early as he had to go in early today for work, he pulled himself out bed and began to get dressed. Bryce strapped on his shoulder holster before putting his gun inside it and throwing his trench coat on. Bryce made his way downstairs to find Pandemonica, Justice, and Judgement waiting for him. "Morning girls, ready for today?" Bryce asked as the girls turned to look at him. "I'll be better when I get some coffee in me." Pandemonica mumbled as she rubbed her eyes. "Another slow day at the desk?" Justice said as she gave him a cheeky grin.
"No, apparently I'm being tagged in on a recent murder case. It's only been three hours since they got the call and made it to the crime scene." Bryce said as he made his way into the kitchen and made Pandemonica's cup of coffee and filled his travel mug for himself. "Yeah it's go time, I gotta move my ass before the Chief chews me out." Bryce said with a frustrated sigh as he handed Pandemonica her cup of coffee. "It'll be fine, besides it beats the shit out of doing paperwork right?" Justice said with a chuckle as she smiled at Bryce. "Yeah that's true, but I can't chat. Judgement make sure you help Lucifer keep the house standing while I'm gone." Bryce said as he made his way to the front door.
"Call me if anything fun happens!" Judgement fires back as Bryce gave her a thumbs up before exiting the house and making his way towards his car.Bryce got into his car before pulling out of the driveway before making his way into the city as he lived in the suburban area outside the city. Bryce heard his phone ring as he noticed that it was his fellow Detective Philip Baker. "Yeah Phil? What we got so far?" Bryce said as he answered his phone. "Bryce, you've gotta get down here, so far the crime scene has been cleared and we've found nothing except the body." Philip said with frustration present in his voice as Bryce could tell his partner was not happy right now.
Bryce finally pulled up to the crime scene has he parked his car and got out before slipping on his surgical gloves. Bryce spotted Phil talking to one of the officers that secured the area.Phil took notice of Bryce as he cracked a smile before walking up to his partner. "About time you showed up! Maybe we'll actually make some progress." Phil said as he walked next to Bryce. "What the hell have you been doing while I was driving up here? It's only been three and a half hours since we got the call." Bryce said as he took notice of five black garbage bags on the golf field that they were at right now.
Bryce opened one of the bags only to find a pair of severed arms. "Jesus, why do some killers feel the need to cut up their victims?" Bryce said as he closed the bag up before turning to look at Philip with an unamused look on his face. "Don't look at me, I don't know the inner workings of psychopath's mind." Philip said as he took a drag from his cigarette. "Well we better start looking around for anything that'll help us find this prick." Bryce said as he stood back up before looking around the golf course for possible leads towards the killer.
Lucifer woke up and made her way downstairs to start making breakfast. "Morning Lucy, sleep well?" Justice said as she gave the Hell CEO a cheeky grin. "Bite me Justice, where's the slave?" Lucifer said as she put on her apron and began preparing the ingredients.
"He already left for work, apparently the station about a corpse on a golf course." Justice said calmly as she leaned back in her chair. "Worthless Slave leaving me to do all the cooking around." Lucifer grumbled as she entered the kitchen with an annoyed look on her face as she set to work.
"What's wring Lucy? Are you upset Bryce isn't here to cook with you?" Lucifer turned to glare at Beelzebub, who stood there with a smile on her face. "I'm not in the mood you fly bitch, right now I have a lot of work ahead of me because that slave is useless!" Lucifer grumbled as she turned the stovetop on. "I think you're upset you didn't get to give him a goodbye kiss!" Beelzebub said as a fork was launched into the wall behind her as Lucifer glared at her. "GET OUT!" Lucifer screeched as Beelzebub ran out while laughing hysterically at her reaction.
A large blush spread across her face as she started to make breakfast. "That stupid bitch! I don't need that slave around, even if he does make the best pancakes! Why would I care about that handsome idiot!" Lucifer mentally slapped herself for having that thought. The blush on her face only grew larger as she tried to relax. "What the hell? Where's Bryce?" Lucifer turned to see Zdrada in the doorway while taking a drag from her cigarette. "Work, dead body at a golf course." Lucifer said lazily as she continued to make breakfast. "Man what a bust! No eye candy to start my day." Zdrada said before walking off with an annoyed look on her face.
Bryce was really starting to get pissed off at this whole investigation, he'd been here for an hour and they still haven't found any leads. "Whoever this guy is, he definitely has committed murder before!" Bryce thought to himself as he continued to sweep the area for any evidence. Bryce was about to turn back when he stepped on something that didn't feel like grass. Bryce looked down to see something poking out of the ground under his foot. Bryce crouched down before grabbing what appeared to be a handle. Bryce pulled as out of the dirt came a bloody bone saw.
Bryce cracked a smile as he walked back to Philip and the other police officers with the evidence. "Looks like our killer is smart, but not smart enough. Left behind his dismemberment tool." Bryce said as he held it up the bloody bones saw with a triumphant smirk on his face. "Really, he cleaned up his act so well, but he got sloppy with the murder weapon?" Philip said as he cracked a grin of his own. "Yet, so let's head back to the station, get our victim identified, I'll get this checked for fingerprints. Then we may or may not bag ourselves a killer tomorrow." Bryce said as he placed the bone saw in an evidence bag before going to his car.
The sun was going down as Bryce drove back home after a long day of pouring over evidence, getting arrest warrants, and getting a bone saw fingerprinted. Bryce pulled into the driveway before getting out and opening the front door. "Master!" Bryce was immediately jumped by Cerberus as the three girls latched onto him. "Hello Cerberus, did you three behave while I was gone?" Bryce asked as the girls nodded their heads. "We missed you Master, why do you have to be away so long during the week?" All three girls said as they put on their puppy dog eyes as their ears drooped.
Bryce gave each of the girls a pat on the head before entering the house and hanging up his trench coat. "Sorry Cerberus, my job is a rather demanding one." Bryce said as the girls snuggled up to him once again. "It's okay Master, you always make sure to spend time with us on our days off." Cerberus said before the three of them went to the living room. Bryce merely shook his head before following after Cerberus. "There you are, you know it's rude to keep a girl waiting." Bryce turned to see Zdrada standing there with an annoyed look on her face.
"You know it's also considered rude to smoke in people's houses." Bryce fires back as Zdrada marched up to him and blew smoke in his face. Bryce quickly grabbed Zdrada's rear with one hand before lifting her chin up with the other. Bryce then smashed their lips together as Zdrada's mind went blank at the action. After a minute Bryce released Zdrada who was now blushing. "Satisfied now?" Bryce asked as Zdrada gave him a cheeky grin. "A little, why don't we finish this upstairs?" Zdrada said in a seductive tone. "Maybe some other time." Bryce said before entering the living room to relax.
"So how'd the investigation go?" Bryce turned to look at Justice, who was sitting on the couch. "Surprisingly well, almost thought the guy covered all his tracks, until I found a bone saw he buried in the golf course." Bryce said as he let out a tired sigh. "Seriously? Of all things to kill a person, he used a bone saw?" Justice said in slight disbelief. "We don't know if he killed her with it, but he definitely used it to dismember her body. Cut her up and put her in five different garbage bags." Bryce said as he collapsed onto the couch next to Justice. "Fuck, and people say hell is a messed up place." Justice said as she leaned back into the couch slightly before looking at Bryce.
"Slave, are you actually gonna get off your ass and help me?" Bryce looked over his shoulder to find Lucifer standing there with an unamused look on her face. Bryce got up before heading into the kitchen to assist Lucifer in making dinner. "Sorry about leaving so early Lucy, but when a murder comes up, I have to get over there as quickly as possible." Bryce said as he tried to apologize to the demon girl. "Just shut up and help me already." Lucifer growled as she and Bryce set to work preparing dinner for everyone. Bryce knee that his harem, he still wasn't completely comfortable with that word yet were an interesting bunch, but he was happy to come home to them after a long day at work.So we got a look into Bryce's work life!
