I set my keys on the counter and jogged up stairs to my room and laid down on my bed and checked my phone.
NEW TEXT
"Hey, it's Jc, I was just wondering what you were doing tomorrow?

My heart raced, nothing, I was doing nothing. I felt giddy, when was the last time someone had shown an interest in me?

I replied "Nothing, did you want to hang out?"

Wait, did Joey give Jc his number too? Maybe he just wanted to get a hold of Joey. Yeah, he wouldn't want anything to do with me.
My phone buzzed, I bit my lip, "whatever it says, it's fine". I thought to myself "it's fine".
I opened the text

Have you and Joey seen the new park yet? Cause I've been meaning to go with someone.

Damn, me AND Joey, oh well, I should have seen this coming. Well it could be fun. If Joey goes he will protect me from anything if it goes to the shits.

I replied, "yeah that seems cool, Joey and I have been here a week and haven't done anything social whatsoever lol!!"

And it was true, we have been socially inactive for months. But who could blame us, ever since the move we've been kind of isolated from anything we've ever known.
When I turned 18 I decided I was going to move out to California, but I was too scared to be alone so I waited until Joey was old enough to go with me. And my parents hated Joey so when he asked if he could come with me they were relieved to have an "out".
