2 - the truth

y/n woke up in Jackson and well let's just say it seemed a lot more... depressing now. people were give her looks of sympathy and she was confused why they were. she decided she would go to Ellie's to see how she was doing but then she remembered Joel and how he had gotten shot in the leg.

she quickly ran towards his house and once she saw all the cards and flowers around his house and steps she was speechless. y/n knew what this meant. these meant that Joel was dead.. no... he was murdered.

hot tears started to roll down her cheeks as she cried. she felt a hand on her shoulder then someone said "I'm sorry you had to figure it out yourself". she turns and sees Tommy.

y/ngave him a hug then asked "how are you and Ellie dealing with this"

"well we both want revenge and I'm sure you do as well"

Joel was kind to her through the 2 years she's been there. he made her feel wanted here and he tried to help her as much as he could. he was more of a father figure than her actual dad was.

y/n broke the hug then said "more than anything". Tommy sighed then said "Well you both are staying here I'm not letting you leave and possibly die out there"

"you can't stop this Tommy. I know you and I know your going after them and I'm not letting you go alone. you never die alone".

Tommy sighed then said "I know I know... but your still young I'm not letting you get yourself killed.. we will continue this conversation later go see Ellie she wants to see you kiddo".

y/n just nodded and made her way towards Ellie's house. she ran her fingers through her h/c hair sighing out of stress.

she soon made it to Ellie's house knocking on her door.

"Ellie it's y/n"

Ellie came to the door quickly then hugged y/n tightly.

"I'm so sorry we just couldn't find you then you ended up getting shot and-"

"Ellie it's fine" y/n pushed her away to show her a smile that she was fine.

Ellie put her hand in the side of her face and looked at her features. "Damn they did a number on you". she looked at y/n with sympathy.

y/n sighed then said "don't look at me like that and it isn't that bad".

she made her way over to Ellie's bathroom and looked in the mirror.

her eyes widened.

she had a black eye and her lip was busted

y/n sighed then said "damnit". she then walked out the bathroom then said "it is kinda bad".

she sat on the side of Ellie's bed and Ellie sat next to her.

"we're going after him Ellie"

"we? no your not going"

"Ellie it's my decision and I'm going with you I know your going and Dina is too but I'm not letting you guys go alone"

Ellie sighed. "Fine but I'm pretty sure we have to sneak out meet us at Joel's place at 7 we got to go when the sun is gonna start setting".

y/n nods then leans her head on her shoulder then asked "are you doing alright?". Ellie nods then says "I guess it's just hard".

y/n looked at the females tattoo then looked at little closer at it before rubbing her finger over it. "what happened there?".

Ellie looked at her arm then said "chemical burn".

"how did that happen?"

Ellie sighed then said "I uh- did it myself to cover a bite mark... you can't tell anyone this but when I was 14 me and my friend got jumped by some infected and we both got bit and well I guess I'm immune to it"

y/n stared at her then said "ok are you joking or are you actually telling the truth"

Ellie just stared at her. She sighed and said "I'm being serious y/n".

y/n was speechless
