It was an early Monday morning, first day of senior year in high school, and the redhead was pacing back and forth in the living room, waiting for her cousin to arrive and drive them to school. It was her first day back at public school since her brother Jason had died at the age of 14. She had been homeschooled because every time she got inside the halls of Riverdale High, she would get seizures and her parents thought it was best for her not to go anymore until she recovered from Jason's death. Now that she was 17, she was ready to walk through the halls again, knowing Jason wouldn't be there ever again.

The doorbell rang and Cheryl rushed towards the door, opening it to find a smiling Betty behind it.

"Are you ready for your first day?"

"I think so..."

"Don't be nervous, you have me, and my friends will love you, I've talked to them about you, and they're excited to meet you"

"You didn't tell them about that did you?"

Betty shook her head and the redhead let out a sigh of relief. They got into the car and drove off to school.

Once they arrived, the redhead looked out of the window before stepping out with her bag. Betty followed and closed the door.

"Thanks Smithers! See you after school"

"No problem miss"

Betty took Cheryl's arm and linked it together, reassuring the redhead that she would be fine.

"Let's go to the student lounge, that's usually where me and my friends meet before school starts and during lunch"

"I'm not sure if they'll like me Betty, just look at me"

"There's nothing wrong with you, and of course they'll like you, they've been waiting to meet you all summer"

"Then why didn't you bring them to Thistle house?"

Betty rolled her eyes and dragged Cheryl into the school, walking over to the lounge, finding her friends talking. Once they saw her standing with someone they didn't recognize, they knew right away who it was.

"Hey guys! Long time no see, this is my cousin, Cheryl, the girl I've told you about"

Veronica stood up and hugged Cheryl, which was something the redhead wasn't used to. She hesitantly hugged back and broke off the hug when she could.

"Sorry V, she's not used to physical contact"

"Sorry, I'm Veronica by the way"

Cheryl gave her a small smile and looked at everyone else. Betty saw the look of confusion in Cheryl's face and helped her.

"These are my friends, Veronica, Kevin, Sweet Pea, Fangs, and another girl, her name is Toni, but she's not here, she's Veronica's girlfriend"

They redhead turned to face the raven haired girl who she now knew as Veronica and gave her a smile.

"You're into girls?"

"Yep, I'm bisexual, but I'd rather girls over guys"

"That's...nice"

"Why don't I give her a tour around the school B?"

"That would be amazing V, I have some homework I couldn't finish last night"

Veronica smiled and looked at Cheryl, waiting for confirmation. The redhead looked at her for a minute before slowly nodding her head. She followed her out of the lounge and looked around the halls.

"So that there is the science room, next to it is the math room, and if you follow me around the corner here..."

Cheryl listened to Veronica show her each room, but wasn't really interested, she wanted to know who was in charge of cheerleading to join. After Veronica finished her long speech, they ended up at Cheryl's locker and the redhead thought that maybe the raven haired girl would know.
