Cheryl got in her car and drove to the hospital. When she arrived, she rushed inside and found Fangs, Sweet Pea, Betty and Veronica in the waiting area, with worried looks. Betty looked up to see Cheryl with teary eyes and got up to hug her tightly.

"W-What happened?"

"T-Toni's dad...."

"What is it cousin?"

"I-I can't tell you..."

"Is...is she ok?"

"She's in surgery...she had a concussion and three broken ribs, pieces of glass got in her arm.."

Cheryl dropped her bag and let the tears out. If Toni didn't get out of there alive, she would've never had the chance to tell her how much she liked her and wanted to be her girlfriend. Betty helped her get to a chair and brought her a cup of water.

Veronica pulled Betty aside and hugged her tightly, knowing how much this would affect her cousin, and everyone else who cared for Toni. Even if they had broken up, her and Toni had been together for so long that losing her would be more than heartbreak to send her into eternal depression.

Fangs sat down, staring at the floor while tears escaped his eyes and rolled down his cheeks, Sweet Pea doing the same beside him. Toni had been like a little sister to them. She had grown up with them in the Serpents, and even though she left the gang, they still cared for her, and knew that by blood, she belonged in the Serpents. She hand never felt at home anywhere else. She grew up knowing how to fight, knowing how to protect others and risk her own life for them, and she got full support of each and every Serpent when she came out.

Cheryl checked the time as every second passed, waiting to get news on the brunette. Seconds turned to minutes, which turned to hours. Soon, five hours had passed and Cheryl was left with Betty and Veronica, while the boys went to grab something to eat. A doctor walked out of the surgery room and into the waiting area.

"Family members of Antoinette Topaz?"

Cheryl quickly got up, with the other two girls following behind and going towards the doctor.

"We are her friends...she has no family.."

"Ms. Topaz suffered a lot of damage on the head, but she was able to survive the internal bleeding on both the head and rib cage, her arm is safe from any harm"

"Doctor, will she be able to remember anything?"

"So far, we have been able to tell that every part of the brain is unharmed, so she will remember everything"

"Could we go see her?"

The doctor nodded at the redhead and signaled for the girls to follow him. They arrived at a door and before the doctor let them in, he pointed at a sign.

"Only two people can go in, and no longer than ten minutes"

"We'll go" Veronica grabbed Betty's hand and took her inside, leaving the redhead alone in the hall, waiting for her turn. The raven haired girl closed the door and went to Toni's side, holding her hand softly, making sure not to wake her.

"I hope you get better Toni, you know I will always care about you, and so does Betty"

"Why didn't Cheryl come in first?"

"Because babe, she'll need to be alone with Toni longer than us"

Betty nodded as she watched Veronica kiss the brunette's hand lightly then let go of her and stand up, walking towards the door. They both got out and Cheryl was let in, closing the door behind her and turning to find Toni laying on the nurse bed with bandages and bruises everywhere. The taller girl just about broke down after seeing her...friend like this. Who ever did this to her would have to pay more than just jail time.
