Thirsty no more

I remember the day when I woke up,
Promptly, with a slight hiccup,
When I rushed to the kitchen for water,
That's when my mom saw me totter

"Little boy there, go right back to bed",
I think that's what my mom had said,
But the round sun had made it's way,
Little quite early, to my dismay

"No! You listen to me, mister,
Though, the sun has showed its glister,
You're sure jumping back to bed",
That's what my angry mom had said

Than expected, the talk was shorter,
I went back to bed without my water,
But won't my unquenched throat be sore?,
Well, surprisingly, I was thirsty no more

Why? Just why?
