"Is it okay if I borrow you for an hour?" he asked as he tightened his grip on the wheel.

Hindi pa ako nakakabawi sa nangyari at sa panghila niya, may panibago na namang hirit.

I swallowed hard. Hell, you can borrow me everytime you want.

"Saan tayo pupunta?" kinakabahan na tanong ko nang paandarin niya ang sasakyan.

Why do I have this feeling that he'll scare the shit out of me once he started driving?

"Drink."

"Huh? E, galing na tayo sa bar ah!"

He looked at me. "Have you not seen the commotion there?"

"I thought I'm not allowed to drink?"

"Kaunti lang..."

"Well, can you drive when you're drunk?"

He nodded. "Of course..." malumanay ang sagot niya.

He kept on looking at me for minutes. Nagkakatinginan kami minsan. It was awkward.

I didn't talk because I know I'll just push his buttons once I open my mouth.

"I'm sorry."

Gulat ko siyang nilingon. "Huh?"

"I might have scared you tonight."

I cleared my throat and shook my head. "No..."

Hindi muli siya nagsalita.

It was a ten-minute drive. He stopped the car in an unknown place. Seaside. Oh, this is familiar. Nakikita ko ito sa pictures pero hindi pa ako nakakarating dito.

Hindi ko alam kung saang sulok kami ng El Vicente ngayon. Basta ang alam ko. Lumilipad lang kami kanina at pati ang utak ko'y lumipad na din.

He didn't say a word but just went out of his car. Nagmamadali din akong lumabas. He stopped and I realized that he was about to open my car. I smiled at him.

Tumalikod siya at ako naman ay parang maliit na batang sinusundan siya.

The cold chilling wind immediately slammed my body. Shivers sent down my body as I felt the regret of bringing any jacket or blazer. My dress is too thin. Malamig ang gabi sa El Vicente.

The smell of salty water attacked my nose. Namangha ako sa natatanaw kong dagat, hindi kalayuan sa amin.

Nasa kalsada kami pero balak yatang bumaba ni Hunter doon. He looked at me and gestured to follow him. I smiled a bit and nodded.

I hugged myself and roamed my eyes around. May iilang tao sa dalampasigan. May mga tiyangge doon.

"Isang stick ng Philips." I heard him say when we arrived at the place.

Nilingon niya ako at nahuling sumisilip sa mga binili niya. I saw beers and chips there.

Umiwas kaagad ako ng tingin sa kaniya at binalingan na lang ang tinderang nag aabot ng sigarilyo.

He paid so I waited for him. May nakatingin sa akin na maliit na batang nakasando lang at madungis sa kalagitnaan ng gabi at ng lamig. She took her hand out to me like she was asking for any foods or money.

Binuksan ko ang wallet ko at handa nang mag abot ng pera sa kaniya pero nagulat ako nang lapatan ng tinapay ni Hunter ang kamay ng bata.

"Pakidagdag 'yon.." he said to the vendor.

Nilingon ko siya. "I was about to—"

"Food is what you should give, Amber. You don't know what she'll spend your money other than food.." he warned me.
