I woke up with one of the worst headaches I have ever had. As I opened my eyes, the brightness of the morning sun shining through my window hit my face, causing my head to throb in pain. I quickly closed my eyes again and rubbed my temples a bit.
'Welp, there's no way I'm getting back to sleep now...', I thought as I attempted to sit up.
I groaned as I sat up, rubbing my head. Me, Mitsuki, Sarada, and Konohamaru nii-chan just got back from our mission yesterday. All I could remember from that mission was that we had to watch over a scroll of some type.
I remember fighting off the other shinobi that were chasing after it because it apparently had a map to a secret and precious heirloom. We got back to the village sometime around midnight last night. I believe the mission lasted anywhere between 4-5 days.
Even though we just got back from that mission and we're all exhausted, my stupid tou-chan insisted that we go on another mission today...To be completely honest, I don't even want to go on this stupid mission. My head is killing me. I groaned in frustration as and threw myself back onto my bed and covered my face with my pillow, earning a throb from my head in response.
As I felt myself start to slowly doze off again from my headache, I heard a knock on my door that was accompanied by the soft voice that belonged to my oka-san.
"Boruto? Honey, are you awake? You have to get ready for your mission." I sat up again and tried my best to hold back a groan of pain as my head throbbed, begging me to lay back down.
"Y-yeah. I'm up."
"Alright. breakfast is on the stove if you want some.", she gently said through the door.
"Ok. thank you, oka-chan.", I said as I slid my feet off the side of my bed and walked over to my dresser to grab my signature sweater, sweatpants, white shirt, and headband.
I set them onto my bed as I got my things ready for a shower. After I took my shower, I dried off with my towel and wrapped it around my body as I brushed my teeth.
I proceeded to walk out the bathroom towards my room and once I was inside, I started to get dressed. after getting dressed, I brushed my messy blond hair and gently slipped on my headband over my head as to not irritate my headache and have the chance of making it worse.
After finishing up my routine, I went downstairs and made myself a plate of the breakfast that mom cooked. As I finished up, I left the house yelling, "Mom, I'm leaving now!"
I ran to the meeting place that we had decided to meet before leaving for the new mission that we were assigned to.
As I arrived, I saw that Sarada and Mitsuki-kun were already there waiting for me. I walked up to them smiling.
"Hey, guys!", I yelled, causing them to focus their attention into me.
Sarada was the first to notice me as she walked up to me with an unamused face.
'She really looks like she wants to slap me right now...', I thought as I visibly shuddered.
"You're late. Again."
I nevously laughed as he statement pulled me back to the present.
"S-sorry. I just have a small headache from our previous mission...", I said avoiding my gaze.
All of a sudden, I felt a hand gently press itself against my forehead, causing me to look at who it belonged to. As I did, I was met with the concerned face of Mitsuki staring back at me with his beautifully lit golden eyes.
'He looks cute...heh...', I chuckled to myself, getting lost in his orbs for that second before my attention was ripped away by him asking me a question.
"Ne, Boruto-Kun? Are you feeling alright?", he asked. Once I realized what was currently happening, I felt my face instantly heat up. My reaction only caused him further concern as he got closer and used his other hand to grab mine and feel my pulse.
"Your face is red and you feel hot.", he said as he moved his hand to my wrist to start counting my pulse.
"—And your pulse is fast. Do you want to go see Sakura-san so she can look at you to make sure that you're alright?"
After he asked that, my senses finally came rushing back to me and I yanked my arm away from his hold and backed away a few inches to give myself some space.
"N-no. I'm a-alright.", I said avoiding my gaze; trying to re-compose myself.
"Are you sure? I can carry you if you're not up to walking there.", he asked, his voice still laced thickly with concern. I opened my mouth to answer and tell him "no", but before I could, Sarada interrupted, catching on to my body language.
"I think he'll be alright Mitsuki. If he wasn't up to it, he would've never came. Right, Boruto?", she asked turning her gazed towards me. "Y-yeah. Right."
Mitsuki didn't seem to believe what she was saying, but he visibly calmed anyway. Once he did, Sarada said, "Alright then! Let's go!", with a bright smile etched onto his facial features.
She turned around and started heading towards the gate to the village. As Mitsuki proceeded to follow her, I just stood there for a moment, confused as ever.
'What the hell was that feeling?', I thought as I held my stomach.
Just a few seconds ago, it was flooding with the over whelming feeling of butterflies. I was brought out of my thoughts by Sarada screaming my name. "Boruto! Are you coming?!" I let go of my stomach and brushed the feeling off as I ran towards her and Mitsuki with a smile. "Yeah! I'm coming!"
