Chapter 7 - What In Hades...
Percy's POV
It all happened so fast. We had made it into the underworld, when I got this really bad feeling. I looked at Grover and reached for Riptide, apparently he got the same bad feeling because he got his panpipes out, I looked over at Annabeth to see what our game plan was when I saw her fall to the ground. The next thing I knew that was me as well.
I hadn't gotten hit too hard because I could barely make out where we were going with my blurry vision. We were flying? Then it clicked in my mind where I saw the faint outline of a castle. We were being dragged off to Hades by the three Furies. Apparently they had just noticed me being awake because I got a big whack on the back of my head and blacked out.
When I woke up again my head throbbed as my vision came back to me. I was in like a cell and Grover was sitting in the other corner banging the back of his head against the wall until he saw me, "Hey man, yo-" he started but I cut him off realizing something.
"Where's Annabeth!?" I practically yelled.
"Perce," he said, and I could feel the nerves in his voice. "I don't know man. When I woke up she was gone."
I sighed, knowing all I could do is sit here and wait. Maybe she will come back?

After what seemed like forever, and it could have been considering I have no sense of time in this cage, a door at the end of the hallway opened and I heard voices and... sobs?
A guard, -who was a skeleton- came into the light with a familiar face. Joy filled me but that soon got washed away with concern as the guard shoved Annabeth to the ground in our not so cozy cage. Alarms went off inside me as I saw she was all beat up with bruises and cuts all over. I rushed over to help as did Grover. I helped her sit up when Grover dug around in his pockets for some ambrosia. He found some and handed it to her and she slowly ate a few bites.
"What happened?" I asked her brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
She started crying, I had never seen her so beat down, I pulled her into a hug and we all sat there in silence for a while before Annabeth spoke up. "He-he knows"
"Who knows what?" Grover asked what was on my mind.
"Hades knows we were after the tree."
"I thought your mom said that he wouldn't know until we had it."
She nodded "No one knows except for us, Chiron, and..." her face lit with horror
"Annabeth," I said, stroking her hair "who else knows?"
"Piper.." she said, her voice hollow. She shook her head "No! She couldn't have told him. She wouldn't."
My mind raced with a million thoughts, would Piper really betray Annabeth? Did she really tell Hades? No. she couldn't and she wouldn't. "Annabeth it's ok." I try to calm her down. "Right now we just need to find a way out." The door at the far end opened again and I pulled Annabeth closer worried about what might happen, and who might be there.
