Chapter 10 - Regret

Piper's POV

Why did I do it? I mean Annabeth was my best friend, my first friend. That was all I could think as I sat on my bunk staring at a bag I packed in case someone found out what I did. But how could I leave? I have a perfect little girl who's going to turn 2 in a month, and I have Jason. I was knocked out of my thoughts when my cabin door swung open. I looked up to see Percy. I gulped fear taking over me. From the look on his face I would think he knows i'm the traitor. I need to leave now I guess. But how? Then an idea hit me.

I took a deep breath trying to push back all the fear inside me.

"Why did you do it?" He asked

I thought for a second wanting to answer his question before I left, but I had no answer. I don't know why I did it, I just did. I couldn't do this I had to leave.

I put all the charmspeak I could muster into my voice. "Percy, could you go tell Michaela happy birthday for me." I shed a tear as I waited seeing if it worked.

He hesitantly nodded and left.

I quickly grabbed my pre-packed bag and slung it over my shoulder. I took out an envelope and wrote 'Jason' on it and slipped in my ring. I then quickly found the papers I had been using to plan Annabeth's wedding. It wasn't completely finished but the idea's were there I also left a side note saying that I had already talked to Chiron about having it here on August 18th, the day they wanted because that was the day they started dating. I put everything in a pile on my bunk, then ran out the door into the forest.
