Chapter 9 - Old Friends
Percy's POV
As the creaked open silently a dark black figure entered from the shadows. But I wasn't scared I would know that figure anywhere. Nico.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were at camp with Will." I whispered as he approached.
"I was." he replied "But you guys were gone for days, and Piper said you were here so I came here. My dad doesn't know that i'm here neither does Will or else he'd kill me for doing 'Underworld-y stuff'." he said making air quotes with his hands.
I could feel Annabeth stifle a laugh.
We were gone for that long? I thought "How did you find us here though. We could have been anywhere in the underworld." I asked.
"Piper said that Hades got to you,-"
He was cut off by Annabeth's sobs of realizing her best friend might turn out to be a spy. What was with Aphrodite campers and spies? Sorry getting off track.
"-But as I got here the thing that gave it away were Annabeth's ear piercing screams. I mean I swear the whole underworld could hear you." He continued, "So I followed her here."
"Great." she mumbled into my soaked shirt from her tears, I guess I hadn't been focused on staying dry.
"Well can you get us out?" I asked getting a bit impatient, but hey, i'm an ADHD demigod.
In response he held up a key ring with keys on it, and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.
After a few attempts at different keys the door finally swung open. "Come on." He said motioning with his hand to the shadows. I'm guessing were shadow traveling. Grover quickly followed and I was about to follow when Annabeth grabbed my arm.
"What about the tree." She whispered
I shook my head "Didn't he say it's returned?"
"Yeah, but the prophecy says that if WE don't return it something bad is coming." she said and I could hear the panic in her voice.
"What if the prophecy knows that we were never going to find it. What if the fates made it so something bad was supposed to happen." I replied. Wow, have I gotten smarter? Nope i'm still a Seaweed Brain.
She nodded and followed Grover and Nico into the shadows, I followed closely behind her. We all held onto each other and were engulfed in darkness.

The next thing I saw after darkness was the camp infirmary. I looked around and spot an annoyed Will heading for us.
"Where have you been! And I told you no underworld-y stuff!" He shouted, not too loud thought.
"I went to save our friends." Nico stated.
I interrupted their little exchange, "Hey guys we have more pressing matters at hand." Annabeth seemed to understand.
"Let me go with you." She begged
I shook my head "Stay here with Will and get those cuts looked at." She looked like she wanted to argue but nodded.

I got out of the infirmary and went to find Chiron. I found him teaching archery.
"Hey Chiron," I started
"Oh Percy! Your back." he smiled
I nodded "Yeah, I think we have a spy. I don't want to jump to conclusions, I was just planning on talking to them about it first. I just thought you should know."
He nodded "Very well, I better get back to teaching." He said turning back to the archery field.
After talking with Chiron, I hesitantly headed to the Aphrodite cabin thinking to look there first.

Hey guys!! So longer chapter-ish, I was going to continue on but I thought i'd give guys something new in the next chapter! But it will only be a one time thing for this book I think.
