Chapter 3 - Timing

Percy's POV

As I was setting up the picnic I wasn't sure what i'd do when Annabeth got here would I hide the ring? Wait until after? Do it before? Then an idea popped into my head which was strange since Annabeth usually got the ideas and I was just the Seaweed Brain that listened to them. But it was a good idea so I put my plan into motion. I grabbed a big stick and started to write the words 'Will You Marry Me' in the sand. I heard footsteps coming along knowing it was Annabeth I chucked the stick and hid. Annabeth spotted the writing and edged nearer, I quietly followed behind her. After I assumed she read it, with all the gasps and 'Oh my gods' I tapped her on the shoulder and quickly got down on one knee. Annabeth turned around an expression of shock on her face and you could tell she was on the verge of tears. Before I could say a word, Annabeth already answered my question. "YES!" she screamed engulfing me in a hug "yes... yes... yes.... yes!" She said in between sobs. I smiled running my hand through her blonde locks as she sobbed a happy sob into my shoulder.

After a while she pulled back and examined the ring, she looked up and are eyes meet, her piercing stormy grey eyes still wet with tears. "It's beautiful" she whispered.

"Just like my Wise Girl" I whispered back.

She gave me a light kiss before I helped her up and we headed to the picnic I had set up. It consisted of everything blue, blue lemonade, blue pizza, blue popcorn, you get the idea. We were enjoying the picnic watching the sun set on the long island sound and talking when a loud shriek that was definitely Piper came from behind us somewhere. We both turned around to see Piper and the rest of the seven. "Well!?" Piper yelled, and everyone laughed. Annabeth held up her hand which had the ring on it in response. Piper let out another high pitched squeal and tackled Annabeth with a hug. The seven off us sat there and chatted for a bit, before heading back to our separate cabins. When I shut the door to my cabin behind me I looked up and saw Tyson, my half-brother cyclops. "Bruder!" He exclaimed before almost squezzing me to death with a hug.

"Hey, big guy" I laughed.

He released me, and we caught up for a bit. Apparently dad had given Tyson the summer off to stay at camp. Which made me happy, I loved hanging out with Tyson. We said are good nights and I laid in my bed staring at the wall trying to fall asleep.
