Back To The Hostel

Every girl turned to look at humaira as she passed. Some joked while others snickered as she walked into the hostel. They were whispering words like 'She's pregnant, see pretender, Our innocentie don open eye!...'

She quietly walked into her room and closed the door.
Zayda, khair and Cynthia glared as she walked to her  bed but only Cynthia went to meet Humaira to talk to her. She took the envelope and check letter what was in it. It was a pregnancy test result just like Kelly had told them all.

"What happened? How come?"

"I don't know Cynthia... It wasn't my fault..." Humaira broken down in tears.

Cynthia felt her pain but started what she's best at.

"Psalm 97:12 says; may all who are Godly be happy in the Lord and praise his holy name." she started.

"Don't worry,  Humaira, there's a hidden beauty in the way we fall. Our Lord said; he holds a hidden blessing every time we fail. If the plan is bad, God destroys the plan before the plan destroys us. There's always a reason to accept fate my sister, God has better plans for you. So please,  don't worry. Wipe away your tears and stop crying. These tears won't make things right, would it? Like a smile, All the gossips would soon settle. Stop crying else others would laugh." Cynthia adviced and held Humaira's hand the way Zainab would. Humaira couldn't help but to break into another series of tears.

Khair and Zayda burst into quick laughter but tries to hide it.

"Sorry Humaira, but we're already late for professor Charles's class. See you later, ehn?" They chorus and rushed out of the room, still simpering within themselves.

Cynthia is a 2nd year chemistry student. So, she wasn't having lectures that day, till 4:00 p.m. She stayed with Humaira trying to calm her down.

Meet Cynthia Okpara, a.k.a Madam Holy-holy a.k.a Ancient of Days. She's an Igbo born, Lagos babe and also the eldest in Humaira's room. She has always been supportive to Humaira, once in a while but always prove to be holier than anyone else in the hostel.

Plumpy and huge, black beauty with a low-cut hairstyle and no earrings.  There's not even a spot for earring on her earlobe. A deeper life, always wearing skirts and no makeup. You'll never find powder in her shelve, only blueseal verseline. Always praying at night and fasting during the day. And always posting scriptures on her social media pages.

She is said to have memorised the whole bible since she was 12, both her parents are popular deacon and deaconess in her hometown, Imo state.

Humaira didn't care missing the lectures for that day.  Whatever wants to happen should. Firdausi was worried so, she met Khira and Zayda after the class.  They joked and snickered about Humaira's pregnancy result.  It was unbelievable. Firdausi wanted to check on her friend but it was already late. She promised to see her the next day.

Three Days Later, It was no news that Humaira was already pregnant for an unknown person. Both in hostel and in class. The rumour had already spread like a wild fire.

Miserable Humaira,  she decided to travel back to Abuja, somehow.  She had to face that devil of a man. After all, he destroyed her. Her life, her pride and future went through the drain like urinating on the street. Most girls in the hostel are started to tease her with the pregnancy issues, And it was disgracing. Ladidi and other Matrons warned them to never tease her again, else?...

"What is next now?" Cynthia asked.

"I'll be going home tomorrow, I need a break."

"That's good, but have you informed your lecturers about it?"

"Yes, I already discussed with our course reps. They told me everything would be fine."

"Okay, that's great! So... How long would you be leaving?"

"I don't know yet, maybe a week or so."

"That's nice... " Cynthia commented. "Whatever you do, Make sure you take the right decision. Don't be scared of anyone, okay? The Lord is with you..." Cynthia encouraged with a smile.

"Thanks a lot, Cynthia." Humaira smiled back, heartily.

The next day, Humaira took the first bus to Abuja.  It was a three-hours ride from Zaria to Gwagwalada.

Finally, Humaira got to gwagwalada with the thoughts of opening up to Doctor Azeezah again but first she must let that monster of a man know she's carrying his child.

Finally, Humaira got to gwagwalada with the thoughts of opening up to Doctor Azeezah again.

The journey was a smooth one. It was just thirty minutes to one when Humaira got home, since she had the keys.  She took a shower and cleaned the place a bit.

Later that evening, Humaira went to Alhaji Musa's office. She needed to face him after all and thought about the fact that he raped her twice and still didn't give her a penny but he needed to know. Maybe somehow, he would raise her child as he's.

When Humaira got there, she entered  fully knowing that Alhaji Musa was around, his jeep was packed outside. Everyone was surprised with what was happening.
'What what's so important that she couldn't even wait a second for?' Lydia wondered as Humaira pushed herself in.

Humaira wasn't able to wait back to listen to any of their lies... She isn't the weak Humaira again, she's now the girl trying to fight for her right with the aim of making him pay at whatever cost, whatsoever!
