Quiet your mind, young lady. Do you feel the world around you? The stars in the sky hum softly and the crows' wings are silent. They are waiting for you to make your next move.
It's best to be silent, and you know it. No pesky song lyrics, no pesky discrimination and prejudice... If no-one knows of your beliefs, no one can persecute you for them. So you wash the mud from your boots and move the quartz and crystals to boxes and shelves. Call this what you will-- safety, preservation, concern, but absolutely not shame. You could never be ashamed of this.
Sometimes, your heart will soar. You, as a woman and a witch, won't want to hide yourself away for forever. The moon will be full; a raven will land on your windowsill. It's an omen, maybe, or a friend.
