I woke up feeling at peace. I actually felt happy when I woke up. Maybe it was because I woke up in Landon’s arms. He hugged me most of night, keeping me warm. I was so at peace that I totally forgot that I was dreading the wedding until my alarm went off, sending me a reminder.
Landon began to stir as my alarm went off. I turned it off quickly and reluctantly rolled out of bed, heading for the bathroom. I could hear Landon groan.
I took a quick shower and freshened up. I quickly dried my hair and rolled them in hot rollers. As I did that, Landon took a shower. “Good morning.” He said as he came out of the bathroom. I smiled at him. “Morning. How did you sleep?” I said. Landon chuckled. “I love your hair like that, you should leave it like that for the wedding. I slept wonderful. How bout you?” He said, rummaging through his luggage. I scowled at him. “I slept good.” I said, finishing the last of the hot rollers. After I was finished I pulled out couple dresses and laid them on the bed. I didn’t know which one to wear. The first dress was a one shoulder floral dress with a belt and the other was a black tube dress that zippered up in the front.
Landon stood next to me. “Hm. You should wear the floral one to the ceremony and the black one to the reception.” He said. I chuckled. “alright.” I said and began to iron my dress. Landon walked out of the bathroom; he got dressed in black slacks, a light blue button down long sleeve polo, and black dress shoes. His hair was tousled. He looked absolutely handsome. I think I actually sighed. Landon smirked as he saw my reaction.
“You clean up nice.” I said. He smiled. “Why thank you.” he said and sat on the bed. I finished ironing my dress and went into the bathroom to change. The floral dress flowed to my mid thigh. I then unrolled the hot rollers from my hair. I tousled my hair a bit and parted my hair to the right. I debated about putting on makeup and thought against it. I applied hairspray and then walked out of the bathroom.
“Wow. You look beautiful.” Landon said, staring at me. “Why thank you.” I smiled. I quickly put on my black wedges and filled my small purse with the room key and cell phone. “Ready?” I asked Landon. He stood up. “Not yet.” He said. I wonder what else he needed to get done. Landon walked over to me. “You’re not wearing makeup are you?” he asked. I gave him a confused look. “No why.” I said. He was standing in front of me now. “Because then I wouldn’t have to worry about messing it up if I did this.” He said and then he kissed me. Softly at first and then he deepened the kiss, pulling me closer to him. He broke away. I for one didn’t mind if we didn’t go to the wedding. “We’ll be late.” He whispered. I frowned. “Okay we should go I guess.” I said and Landon chuckled. He took my hand and led me out the hotel.
We arrived at the chapel that Scarlet was getting married at. It was full of unknown people. Landon and I took a seat in the middle. I sat close to the aisle and Landon sat next to me. There was loud chatter going on and someone playing the piano in the background.
Then the groom walked down the aisle and stood at the front with the priest. Everyone stopped talking and stood up. Then the pianist began to play the traditional wedding song. I looked toward the doors and watched as the little flower girl marched down, leaving red rose petal trails behind her. Then the rest to the entourage walked in. I immediately locked eyes with Sebastian. He was one of the groomsman. He stared at me and gave a small smile as he passed me. Before I could respond he was already to the front of the church. Then, looking as beautiful as ever, Scarlet walked down with her father. She wore a beautiful white gown that looked very princessesy. She met my eyes and smiled widely. I smiled back.
When Scarlet reached the front, we all sat down. I watched the ceremony go on, though I couldn’t help but look at Sebastian. Every time I did, he would be looking at me. He looked the same. He looked as if he gotten older. His black hair was neat and shiny, his pale green eyes seemed dull than the last time I’ve seen him. I looked away quickly and watched the ceremony. Landon took my hand in his.
