The melancholic night, my dismal state,
A moody morning with it's vexing trait,
Still I'd wake up, trying to get on,
The thought of you, my light of dawn.Pleasant cacophony and the dying light,
Brilliant cue for dead of the night,
I'd stay up for long, delaying my sleep,
Planting your voice in my heart so deep. The anchor in life, for my drifting mind,
You embraced my chaos, my thoughts aligned,
You fathomed my soul with an intuitive spirit,
The key to my bliss, you calmed my misfit. The prime stimulus for me to thrive,
You taught me to dream boldly and strive,
When I crumbled under these hefty thoughts,
You were the one to slacken the knots. Why do you love me? Why would you stay?
When there are enough reasons to stray,
Our vulnerability is our greatest force,
We'll paddle our canoe, through this course. Why do you love me? What do you see?
What if on some day we disagree?
On my darkest days, you're my brightest star,
I'll remind you again, how we got so far.
