Chapter 7: Reunion/Confession

Later in the day Giyuu and Kanae arrive at the Butterfly Estate and Shinobu sees them and begins crying, "Sister? It's really you! I missed you so much!" Shinobu hugs Kanae.

Kanae hugs back, "I missed you too Sis!" Kanae starts to cry too.

Soon Kanao, Aoi, Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho all join the hug, Kanae looks at all of them and smiles, "You've all gotten so big!"

"Don't ever leave again big Sis! Kanao says through tears.

"I won't, I promise!" Kanae says.

Soon Kanae's son Giyuu walks in and sees his mom and is confused, "Mother?"

Kanae turns around and says with tears, "SON! A demon killed your father!"

"Wha- What?" Giyuu began crying.

Kanae in tears, "Come here son."

"I'm sorry Mom!" Giyuu hugs her, "I couldn't keep my promise for more then a day! I couldn't protect Father!"

Kanae hugs back, "It's not your fault! You had a job and because of you another family won't lose their father or worse!"

"You're right Mom!" Giyuu still cries.

Kanae pats his back, "Let it all out Son! You're a good kid! We'll get through this together!"

"Mom, why does everyone know you and why are they all crying?" Giyuu askes.

"I'm not just a former Demon Slayer... I'm a former Hashira..." Kanae says nervously.

"And Father? I notice he only left at night." Giyuu responds upset.

Kanae looks down in shame, sighs, and cries more, "I'm sorry too... I just didn't know how to tell you all of this. Me and your father didn't meet under great circumstances. I hope you don't hate."

"MOM! I can't ever hate you! I still love you and Dad all the same no matter what happened with you two!" Giyuu comforts Kanae, "You two raised me! I can never forget that!"

"Thanks Son I just want you to know your Dad loved you with all my heart and he'll always guide him in battle!" Kanae gives him a smile.

"You're welcome Mom! I love you more than anything." Giyuu tightens his hug on Kanae as she does the same to him and they both smile.

Moments later a voice is heard from Kanae's side, "Kanae?" Kanae turns to see a very tall, very muscular, and white haired man covered in scars standing with a shocked expression on his face.

Kanae looks at him surprised, "Sanemi?"
